The wall cuts the flow of capital to criminal gangs and cartels in Mexico, which make Mexico such a shithole.

Once the Wall is constructed, the U.S. should offer to work hand-in-hand, back-to-back with Mexican police in eradicating the Cartel. Strangle their money supply, and then drop the hammer on them.

This is a good argument for "Better to fight them over there, than over here." which we heard a lot during the 2000's wars.

The wall is actually a humanitarian relief project, meant to bring prosperity and peace to Mexico.

Good luck selling this idea to left-wing consumers of illegal drugs. Limiting the flow of illegal immigrants into the U.S. strangles a major source of illegal drugs in the U.S.

Honestly the wall doesn't do shit. Cartels already crazy advanced tunnels that you can drive an 18 wheeler through and planes and subs. I really doubt a large percentage of people who illegally come into the US do so by walking anyway.

I'd be down with helping Mexico fight cartels on their own turf more.

No point in fighting the cartel tunnels while mother fuckers are riding donkeys and hitch hiking across the border.

Close the border - and then we can focus on destroying the tunnels.

There are so many organizations in this country who would love to be turned loose in Mexico to solve the Cartel issue.

What is stopping anyone from strangling the cartels money now?

Remember, a number of the largest banking institutions in the world have been caught red handed laundering money for terror and cartel organizations, and not only did our alphabet agencies allow this, but then no one went to jail for it.

If you want to cut off the money, go after the banks. Unfortunately, trump is too busy de-regulating a bunch of turncoat criminals.

It doesn't do any good if the border is wide open.

It's like fixing a leaking faucet when there is a busted pipe. Pointless.

Fix the broken pipeline that is spewing drugs and crime across our border, and then worry about the leak.

The border isn't wide open. There is such a flood of people, that you would need an army to catch them all.

It won't work. As long as their is a demand for drugs, a supply will be found. Even if they have to buy legal documents, and set up shop in the US, or bribe border agents, or use shipping containers as they already do.

You want to stop the cartels?

Decriminalize drugs. Treat it as a HC issue, which it is.

You want to stop illegals?

Take away their incentive to come here, which is the ability to work here. We need E-verify with teeth.

Half of illegals come here on legal travel or work visas, and overstay. A wall doesn't solve half of the illegal problem.

You can't solve any of those problems while the border is wide open.

There is no point of conversation as long as the border is not secure.

Secure the border, then we can fix other broken systems.

What does a secure border look like?

Bush passed a 2 billion dollar border defense bill. We have hired more border agents.

What you want to do, is miltarize our border with mexico, to solve problems, it won't actually solve.

You want to bandage a wound on a limb that can't be saved. I want to cut the damn thing off, and be done with it.

Lol at “trump wins Hispanics from the GOP”
{<jordan}
The wall.............really a fucking wall!
A wall won’t stop shit or do shit, is a waste of money and mexico ain’t paying for it.
Plus good luck trying to build a wall trough native land that runs on both sides of the border.

You know that basically all dems support increased border defense spending, which includes sections of walls, and fences, and drones, ect.

Like so many issues, the debate is dumbed down to a point, where both sides are propagandists, selling snake oil.

Then why are you against it? Honest question. Are you ‘for’ more effective means of controlling our southern border?

Nothing Latin Americans like more than us interventions. preferably involving the military, special forces, or CIA.

The GOP had nearly 50% of the Latino vote 14 years ago. It's a demographic that trends conservative because of the influence of the Catholic church. If they hadn't spent so much time pandering to the fucking lunatic racists in the base who, at worst, will just stay home on election day, then this wouldn't be an issue.

The border will never be completely inviolable. It is a matter of what are we willing to pay, and is it worth it? Currently, we are far from an open border. Could it be more physically secure? Yes, at a higher cost. Is it worth it? I don’t think so, currently.
I agree there are better ways to tackle illegal immigration, including drug reform and legislative reforms that make the risk of employing illegals completely prohibitive. Instead we’ve got Trump pardoning Sholom Rubashkin, one of the biggest exploiters of illegal labor in recent history. It’s all smoke and mirrors. The wall sells well to the base, but is a poor way to tackle a problem. I don’t think the current admin is serious about controlling immigration.

Yeah, illegals are the only reason why Americans love guns and drugs.

You guys cant even stop the flow of drugs, gangs and guns in your own streets, worry about that before you start worrying about other countries.

You honestly think that Mexican drug cartels that have millions of dollars won't figure out how to get over a wall? Spoiler alert: They already have.

So a multi-billion dollar illegal industry comes crashing down due to 20ft wall?
