wanted to fit in bench but ran out of time.

I had a press failure on the left side of the DB at 70lbs. I let my elbow slide out and couldn't finish the press. I put the weight down and made myself clean and press it again. No problem. The clean is going well the press is starting to slow down at the 70lb mark.
 
push press or jerk them bitches. i wouldnt worry about strict pressing the weights to begin with. once you get accustomed to hoisting heavier shit overhead the lighterp resses will feel much easier
 
I'm not scrict pressing them but sorta push pressing them. I thought about trying to jerk the 70s but haven't ever done jerk before. I'm digging the excerise though. I should thank you for suggesting it but I'm not going to.

a split jerk works fairly well for one armers. not a full on one per se, but a little lunge works best for me. better than the squat version anyhow

I am fighting my hands alittle with this schedule. With the BB cleans, deads and DB cleans by the end my hands are shot. My callouses have blisters on their callouses. It hurts driving almost 12 hours later. Anyway I considered gloves at one point today for the final DB clean work, however realized they would kill the look of my gunzors as I posed in the mirror between lifts. Anyone have any other ideas besides queer looking gloves?

THere was a huge man in the gym today. Shoulders like bowling balls. Found out later he was some motivational speaker who does strongman stuff as part of his gig. He was speaking at a church on the evils of steriods and such. Didn't get a chance to talk to him. He may have been the largest must cut man I have seen in person in recent memory
 
i wrap some athletic tape around my bars. that cuts down on the wear and tear immensely. but i assume you workout at a commercial gym?

the thicker handle also works out your grip. for my two db cleans im using nothing but 2'' bars at the moment

also smooth handled bars, although harder to grip, dont tear into your flesh as much as knurled ones

Yea not my weights.

Thought about taping the handles with a single layer of white tape. But since I'm switching through the weights its impraticale. I may just ride the pain wave for awhile longer and see if it ceases. THe pain is actually were my callous from deads lay on my palm at the bottom of my fingers.

It felt good to be back benching after 1 1/2 months. I didn't start with a real challenging weight, just enough to feel like I did something. Probably add 10lbs a session til either my elbow hurts or I can't lift it. Gonna stay with sets of 5 til I find my top end though. Then I may even look at an actaul program for bench.

the alternating DB press was fun, I've done it overhead before but never off a flat bench that I can remeber. Really had to work to stablilize the weights even though they were fairly light

This was also my first run at weighted dips. Its hard to believe 25lbs could make that much dif. I'm thinking I'll just stay at 25 til I get sets of 15 or so then move up to 35.

In postive weight news. I am still 208ish. But my body fat according to impendce meter said 13.8 %. I didn't have time to do a pinch test too. But on me the pinch test varies about 2 or 3% from the impendce meter depending on whether its 3 point or 5 point. Even with 3 points variance I'm under 17 since i know I'm not much if any lower than 13% according to my non-abs. But since i've been getting the impendce meter done its still an almost 10% drop overall with no lose of body weight. I'll do pinch next time. I've found this meter to normally accruate as far as loss/gain even if the % aren't exact when compared to the pinch tests.

NO MMA this week as the gym was closed after their fights for rest and recovery. Which he always does, i think its more for him than the fighters though. Should get back on the mats Sat.
 
are you trying to attain a certain bf % or just mirror check it
