Excuse me but Yushin Okami was never a big MW.

Fought half his career at WW never missing weight.

Weighted-in at soft 200lbs with clothes on for a week-notice LHW bout vs OSP.

A below average MW by today standards.

I'm joking around and I think it's a gag with Royce's Gi as well but I can't be sure.

I agree though, by today's standards he's be a fairly big WW and a smallish MW. He did appear bigger at MW than WW so it was changing his body composition more than massive weight cutting.

I think it also had to do with wide shoulders/arms and big head gives the impression of being bigger than he really is, despite a thin body and narrow waist
