why? why would anyone eat soup before a meal? if I eat a meal it's because I'm hungry, and the meal I eat will be my meal to fill me

Not a big cake person but I love ice cream, don't get to eat it because dairy blah blah

but if I was to eat ice cream I wouldn't eat it straight after a meal, because I wouldn't be hungry
I'd eat it when I was hungry, just the ice cream, the whole lot in one go, and then not be hungry

The multicourse meal is about experiencing different foods over a short period of time and usually to enjoy it with people. If you're just trying to go from hungry to stuffed as quickly as possible, pick a better place to eat.

the process yes but I have to say (and I’m sure I’ll get grief here for it) Italian food is overrated. It’s great I will admit but having been to Rome and Sardinia and having several Italian mates and a ex GF who’s Italian I think it fails to match the militancy they have with regard to how great their food is. Again I’m not saying their food is not good just overrated and at times bland
