Elections 2020 Democratic Primary Thread: The Announcements

I laughed hard at this article. Apparently gabbards campaign is in dissaray because a Bernie person, was leaving to join Bernie's team.

Such non-sense.

Part if the primary is in-fighting with the lane you are running in for votes with similar candidates like yourself. It seems like Gabbard is unquestionable competing for the same type of votes Bernie is and possibly Warren. It doesn't stay within votes either. They are fighting for possibly similar campaign staff and endorsements. Once you can figure out the lanes of a primary, I think most of it becomes far more understandable and interesting.

What is really entertaining to me is watching the slow death of the establishment left.

Notice Bernie and Gabbard don't even want Robert mooke or James carville.

I don't know who will end up with each staff member but this comment is making my point. Theres certain qualified staff members/campaign managers that are more suitable for a certain lane. Tulsi's seriousness in a legitimate 2020 run should be questionable when you publicly announce about it without telling any of your campaign staff and the departure of the manager speaks to what could be going on further. She may be too inexperienced to do this and it makes complete sense because she's only a House rep at this point. She should consider moving up to the Senate or some other higher role before the presidency imo. I think she is doing something similar to Castro where she wants to be considered as a VP or at the very least, build her name recognition as her career progresses.

I always said it made sense for Gabbard to be groomed as Bernie's replacement.

Michael Bloomberg’s Secret Plans to Take Down Trump
The Atlantic

Michael Bloomberg has bigger plans for 2020 than running for president. The billionaire and former New York City mayor has been openly dreaming of the White House for 25 years, and spent huge amounts of time and money four times over the past 10 years trying to figure out a way to get himself there.

But he has hesitations about this race, too. He’s not sure there is a realistic space in the Democratic primaries for his centrist record. And he almost certainly won’t run if Joe Biden does, members of his team believe.

The US is leading the world in cutting down emissions. Us not signing agreements to transfer our wealth to the endless pit of corruption that is the 3rd world is not the issue. They need China and India to sign and actually follow through.
This was a positive.

You don't understand the agreement. The US leads the world in cutting emissions because of liberal states which is also why Paris is so important because the red states are burning more and more fossil fuels with no efforts to cut them and without Paris there won't be.

China and India are cutting emissions they signed up to Paris. We are the people responsible for destroying the world. China's been working their asses off to cut emissions just not really covered.

Yeah after this early wave of attacks I think Bernie is the only one who the neolibs have to exercise any sort of caution insulting cause he has a larger general base. The hardcore activists love Tulsi but since when has corporate america ever cared about our hatred of them? Bernie is liked to different degrees by a larger share of the US population than anyone else and while he might not get a fair shake(they are totally trying to rig this primary), he's going to get the fairest shake any of our people will. Steyer might be able to buy his way to the nomination but in the process he'd look like an establishment hack and while I'd love to have Steyer as President think a billionaire is too taboo for the base and they won't know the difference between a good one and a Schultz or Bloomberg.

Your mind is infected with the disease of liberalism.

Only a liberal could blame the ones leading the world, while defending China “working their asses off” yet still being the worst offender.

Seek help.

I said this during the last election, I would have voted for Bernie over Hillary and Trump... instead of voting for Gary Johnson.

Overall, my libertarian beliefs align with Bernie over any other Dem and over most Republicans. Even if I may not agree with a lot of his fiscal plans, I realize that they'd be compromised down by Congress anyway.

Amy Klobuchar to make announcement regarding 2020 plans Sunday
CBS News
Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., will be making an announcement on Sunday evening regarding her 2020 plans. Klobuchar has been mulling a presidential bid. If she announces a run, she would be the fifth senator to launch a campaign or announce an exploratory committee for president.

"I'm making a big announcement on Sunday," Klobuchar wrote on Twitter late Tuesday night, after attending President Trump's State of the Union address. She linked to a website to sign up for her "big announcement," which will take place in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Beto O'Rourke to Oprah: I'll decide on 2020 run 'before the end of this month'
CNN
Former Rep. Beto O'Rourke will decide whether to run for president "before the end of this month," he told Oprah Winfrey in an interview Tuesday.

"We want to play as great a role as possible making sure that this country lives up to our expectations -- to the promise, to the potential that we all know her to have," the Texas Democrat said.
Then, after telling Winfrey he has been "thinking about running for president," he said, "I've got to tell you, and you can tell, I'm so excited at the prospect of being able to play that role."

Rumors about Amy Klobuchar's being a abusive bitch to her staff strike me as very believable. She has a very fake vibe about her, always reminded me of Hillary who anyone that isn't a complete hack and worked for will admit is a complete bitch from hell. Lucky she also has the press to cover for her.

Like to see that meme.

Not surprising considering Bernie is a left-libertarian.

There is plenty of compromise to be made with similar minded right-libertarians. For instance, I think right-libertarians would agree that the health insurance industry needs a breakup(anti-trust or otherwise to ensure an even playing field) but their solution probably isn't to break them up by publicly funding healthcare through higher taxes.

The problem, and where there is little room for compromise, is the establishment pricks who are owned by special interests and corporations. They refuse to acknowledge that the health insurance industry is completely out of control in terms of pricing and stifling competition, let alone what steps to take to reign them in.

Someone like Tulsi Gabbard can play an important role in uniting these similar ideologies whose main concerns are a strong American job market(for blue collar and below), ending the status quo interventionist foreign policy, investment in infrastructure, and tackling the national debt.

The Libertarian Party jumped the shark when they ran the GOP establishment ticket in the year of the outsider. Gary Johnson calling Bill Weld the original libertarian when he was just using the party to get some publicity for himself and even endorsed Hillary. Not that it mattered, it just made the Libertarian Party into an official joke.

If you Google Amy Klobuchar president, all the news articles are about reports that she mistreats her staff lol

Dnc must have asked media to run a few quick hit pieces for them as they don't want her
