2020-21 NBA Player Contracts

if the fighters only get 15 percent, then where does this revenue mostly goes to? dana white's pocket? his boss?
VERY manipulative stat, since it doesn't count PPV point. And that makes up the majority % of the top fighters salaries

Depends how you look at it. Its MUCH tougher to be in the NBA than the UFC and its not close

it's way harder to make it into the nba, no doubt, the talent pool is huge for major sports in america
because every athelete boys start playing team sports since highschool, then like 1 percent of best high school kids get to play in D1, and 1 percent of that gets into nba
nba requires height which alone cancel out 99.9 percent of the population

but once you are in the nba, you are set, you can be on the bench and make 1 million per year, as long as you don't get cut you can cultivate millions throughout your career

mma fighters have it tough the other ways, for starter, there's the risk of cte, you get punch in the face for a living, not to mention broken bones, torn ligaments, your body is constantly going through punishment.
to make it in the ufc, let's use an example, in TUF the UFC will handpick 36 best regional mma fighters (these fighters usually have records like 10-2, 8-1 so they are the best in their area), let them compete, 18 of them will get in the show, then they fight to get in the UFC, at the end only 1-2 fighters will get signed. once you are signed you are not set

the so called six figures contract is bullshit, you are not even making six figures if you lose, and if you lose 2-3 times right away, you are cut. all that hard works for nothing. ufc fighters are financially strained, because they have to pay their gym, trainers, surgeries everything they do is out of pocket. ufc doesn't take care of them. in team sports your team take care of your everyday needs during your season

only a handful of people get ppv point and it's a very small part of the ufc revenue
for example flyweight champ figueiredo hasn't gotten ppv point yet and he's someone with the actual belt.

I think champs automatically get PPV points. Not 100% on that though.

But sherdog told me since the NBA went woke they would go broke...
Yes, Westbrook might have to take a pay cut in 2 years from 47 million a year to maybe 43. He'll have to rely more on his 18 million a year in endorsements. UFC fighters could do the same if they were allowed to have endorsements. Reebok uniforms stopped the fighters from having their uniforms endorsed and the UFC extracts a big cut of any other endorsements fighters get for themselves.

this is Myles Jury, a decent UFC fighter, on his first fight with Michael Johnson, he only took home 19k altogether after paying his gym, taxes etc.

figueiredo doesn't, there is a thread about this on the first page

Found it. Thanks.

Because they're not doing their social justice bullshit anymore.
Anymore? You guys were bitching about them doing it like 4 months ago. Maybe you assuming social justice is the reason for the low ratings that they had over the summer is the wrong assumption. I listed in multiple threads, numerous reasons why the NBA restarts ratings were not as good as they could have been. None of the reasons were social justice. Only an idiot would think that's what the reason was

when you alienate half the country with your political agenda, you risk of losing fans

I’ve been out of the nba loop for along time now and those numbers are surprising.

I remember Michael Jordan’s last contract was like 32milliom over maybe 4-6 years and that was crazy for the time.

Fucking Eddie and Askren got PPV points. Its NOT nearly as small % as you want to believe. GSP and Anderson were at 5 bucks a PPV. Conor gets like 10 million a fight from it. Way more have PPV points than fits your narrative and the ones that do its the majority of their salary. PPV points make up a BIG % of what the UFC pays out. They still don't pay enough, but you completely ignoring all PPV pay shows you have an agenda

you don't know what you are talking about
the ppv points are kept private, how do you know Conor get 10 million a fight from ppv point, other than garbage rumors

nah MJ was getting over 30 millions a year in his second three peat, which was way more than the rest of the bulls team altogether, if we factor in inflation, it would be over 120 millions a year if he's playing today, which is peanut compare to what he brought to the franchise and nba over his career
