Or basketbal clubs could only charge $10 for an entrance ticket instead of 10x that amount. Make it accessible for everybody, pay them a normal or little bit better than normal wage and everybody would be happy
I know, and that's the problem. It's all about money but people aren't surprised when there's a homeless person on every corner. It's sad. That's not how it works in the states.

They also are likely to go into a major labor strike very soon. Because the ratings for the playoffs and the NBA finals were in the goddamn toilet. And players constantly want salary increases. Two different sports and a totally different revenue structure.
That said, NBA players do get a MUCH bigger slice of the pie when it comes to total revenue than UFC fighters do. They also play a lot more games per year than the number of fights almost all UFC fighters will have throughout their whole careers.

Ratings were shit. In the playoffs and in the NBA finals.Where are you getting this notion that the modern day NBA fan isn't happy about the product in front of them?

The NBA owners care about it. For obvious reasons.Like the UFC with PPV buys, I don't care about ratings. That's for teenyboppers and casual trash.
Actually it does. People don't mind spending hundreds of dollars on jerseys, tickets etc. that pay those ridiculous salaries but helping people out that actually need the money is a no-go. I've been living here now for about a year and it blows my mind how much people only care about money and themselves.Homeless in America doesn't have shit to do with NBA players getting paid the money they and their union fought for.
It's what happens when you gut every social safety net imaginable and individuals get priced out of their homes.

But as long as it's normal that athletes get paid millions and hard working people get paid barely enough to live, this will not change. But yeah, let's keep complaining that the UFC fighters don't make what the NBA players make
Ratings were down across sports. The Stanley Cup Finals were down 61% from 2019. Are whiney black athletes responsible for that too?Ratings were shit. In the playoffs and in the NBA finals.
I'm not sure about now, I was trying to look it up and didn't get information on current policy. Before Reebok, companies had to pay a (tax) to the UFC if they wanted to sponsor fighters. It was variable but one company on record paid 50,000 to the UFC for the ability to endorse a fighter. The ufc doesn’t take a cut from outside endorsements.
I don’t know you went someplace I’m not interested in going on that one.Ratings were down across sports. The Stanley Cup Finals were down 61% from 2019. Are whiney black athletes responsible for that too?
