Elections 2016 Democratic/GOP Super Tuesday Primary Thread

Who wins the most delegates in their party on Super Tuesday? (Pick one for each party)

  • Total voters
    23
  • Poll closed .
Watching Texas really closely right now. That asshole Cruz did better than expected, and it's hurting Rubio. Cruz has won three states, but he has no presence outside the South, and Kasich (though I am pulling for him) has no presence outside the Northeast.

So I'm watching 5 states where Rubio has to hit a minimum of 20% of the vote to be awarded ANY delegates:
  • 23% = Georgia, 3rd place (83% of precincts reporting)
  • 20% = Tennessee, 3rd place (85% of precincts reporting)
  • 19% = Vermont, 3rd place (73% of precincts reporting)
  • 18% = Alabama, 3rd place (82% of precincts reporting)
  • 18% = Texas, 3rd place (64% of precincts reporting)
Whether or not Hillary Clinton is our next President likely rides on whether or not he can close those 1%-2% gaps in the lower three states, and if he can hold in Tennessee. If not, the delegates will be too split, and the GOP will either be forced to go with Trump, who again showed tonight that he can't manage a truly dominating victory anywhere and break his disfavorability "ceiling", nor who has proven he can do well with anybody but white GOP voters; or, alternatively, to "play defense" on the 1,237 with a split convention.

It has become relatively clear tonight that either of these scenarios will result in an lay-up general election win for Hillary.
Someone will try a 3rd party candidacy and it may split it to where it actually helps Trump win just like Nader actually allowed Bush to win in 2000.

Fox calls the Land of 10000 Lakes for Rubio.
Marco has a win, so he aint dropping out, but he is down 20% in his home state which does not look good.

It's basically open racism. That kind of thing isn't going to change anyone's mind.
This is what is disturbing me most about some of the harcore Sanders supporters. It is so opposite of the beliefs of Sanders himself that it is kind of baffling to me.

So now that we know Hillary is the next president who is going to be her vp?
VP is important for dems this term. Hillary needs someone to turn out voters. Bernie needs someone presidential, because he's old and could easily die. POTUS ages people fast.

I think it is quite entertaining to hear all the talk about bernie's trouble in the south, and so little talk about Clinton's trouble in the midwest and north east so far.

Maybe my math is off, but I think there are more delegates in the midwest, and coasts than there are in the south.

Now one can argue that hillary is dominating in the south, and bernie's best performances are minnesota, colorado, and new hampshire which isn't equivalent dominance to what she is doing in the south, and it is a fair point, but this narrative of Clinton running away, and bernie being almost KO'd is absurd.

I love stuff like this on CNN where they are just waiting on results and have a panel argue and let the conversation go wherever. That was like a solid half hour of Van Jones and a few staffers of Cruz/Trump all arguing.

I think the plan is Castro from San Antonio.

Bernie would be disgusted by all the c- and b-words thrown out by his supporters, too.

Good for Trump because he can keep winning with 32-49% of the vote as long as Cruz and Rubio stay in. Rubio vows to stay in to stop Trump, but by staying in he may actually help Trump win the nomination except for the slight chance of the brokered convention.

Thats over the top and uncalled for.
I would say the people talking about black voters being lower IQ, and the only reason they do not vote for Bernie because they have not heard of him is fairly racist. It flat out saying they are dumber than others in one point, and saying they cannot research and come to their own opinions in the other.

I think I have also heard Corey Booker. I would be interested to see who Sanders is thinking though.

That congresswoman who just left the dnc to endorse him maybe? She's young, non-white, veteran.

My guess is one of the Castro brothers . They've been grooming him for awhile
