The whole thing is a PR ploy by the guy running it. He has been trying to get noticed for about 3 years now. This is probably going to be his ticket to some notice. And all due respect to his sacrifice, but being blown up doesn't make all your ideas magically good ones.

Trump could act on it without Congress. The only thing he needs from them is approval for funding.

I don't believe there is any way they raise $1 billion, but $8 million in 3 days is an impressive rate. It's more symbolic than anything else.

I have always been ok with the wall but for some reason having it done by Trump doesn’t sit well with me. I feel like it’s just something he can stand next to and say, look at what I did.

Not to mention he lied every day during the campaign about Mexico paying for it. My tax dollars get wasted on many things so it’s tough for me to get too upset about a wall
