Back then even though Bones was murdering,he had a lot of wholes in his striking game which Gus exposed somewhat. Also,all his crazy spins and jumps...wellI seem to remember Fedor KOing AA mid air. Fedor had insane explosiveness and timing with his striking and if Gus was able to fuck up JJ's face there is a good chance that Emilianenko could have caught him with some big.
Also if Vitor almost submitted JJ with that armbar,Fedor would have taken that whole arm home 100%.
What I am trying to say here is that Fedor stands better chance at beating JJ than ppl care to give him. Jones would be extremely difficult fight regardless. Not a walk in the park for neither fighter
That's a poor comparison.. Gus was able to have success against Jones due to his reach and boxing. Something Fedor doesn't have.
