Going in is much different than defending yourself while you're in there, yeah?
I agree. I think a teacher with a gun would barricade themselves in a room with their students and only fire if the shooter attempted to get in. They're not going to leave the relative safety of a secured, locked room to run towards the gunfire.
As to the mention of the football coach who used his body as a shield - he is a hero. But from what I understand the shooter came upon where he was - he didn't run towards the shooter. So unless the football coach is walking around strapped he wouldn't have been in the situation to return fire in the same situation.
