Have Gaethje's low kicks actually stiffled any of the elite-level guys that he fought?

Alex was getting to Izzy and hurting him with calf kicks in both of their MMA fights. Outside of Jan checking Izzy's kicks, nobody else has had that kind of success against him in MMA.

HE almost finished Poirier with them.

The thread didn't say anything about a specialist, it said the best low kicking game. His low kicks were as hard as anyone's. Watch the fight with Yoshida.

When CC low kicked, they were harder than any of those you mention. The fact that he didn't do it often doesn't mean he wasn't one of the best at it when he did.

Gaethje is sloppy lol. He just uses the technique. Guys like Barboza had brutal kicks in MMA. Aldo was great too.

Lots of MMA guys only spar Boxing based. And practicr hands on the pads. You see it in all.of the American styles. There is no answer for getting kicked. And they might not even encounter many of it when in the regional circuit. Loads more wrestlers and grapplers I reckon.

But you really have to look at Muay Thai and kickboxing to see the best low kicks. In MMA they mostly suck at using it in combinations. They also do not check a lot. Or return fire when getting kicked.

seriously except the yoshida fight name one fight just one whether it is KB or MMA where CC put a good lowkick game on display...? i'm pretty sure i have watched every single one of his fights since the early K1 and never saw him using that much Low kicks knees or elbows...
there's a good reason why... because he has a full contact background. truth is his low kicks were not that good while his middle and high kicks were exceptional maybe the best we've ever seen from a HW

If anyone mentioned Antoni Hardonk in the thread, props.

He pretty much was low kicks personified and I think is one of two people (Barboza) to finish multiple fights with leg kicks in the UFC (and in a lesser amount of fights)

Prime Aldo obviously gets a mention *insert Uriah Faber's leg picture.*

Pat Barry should also get a mention, his were fucking brutal.

Did Mark Shultz have the greatest takedowns and GNP in MMA history? He was an Olympic gold medalist and his takedowns/GNP looked unstoppable in his one fight.
