Maybe a bit of a reach but if Islam continues this domination at WW, it's Islam vs Khamzat by the end of 2026 at MW

1 Belal Muhammad
2 Sean Brady
3 Shavkat Rakhmonov
4 Leon Edwards
5 Kamaru Usman
6 Ian Machado Garry
7 Joaquin Buckley
8 Michael Morales
9 Carlos Prates
10 Gabriel Bonfim

I kind of think he could. I don't see any of them being able to stop the wrestling really. Maybe usman and Shavkat. But Islam might retire soon he's getting older.

Only interested in Morales, Garry, Shavkat and maybe Prates...others (Belal, Brady, etc.) would need to string together a few nice wins first. Prates likely gets manhandled in the grappling department.

Truth is guys like Belal and JDM should never have been champions, they just squeaked by into it from lucky events like Khamzat having health issues leading to no longer being able to make weight, Shavkat having a long injury layoff and missing out on the title and Gary just losing to Shav which set him back.

Guys like Edwards, Brady, Belal, JDM are ok contenders but were never going to hold onto the belt for long.

Nah he'll be too old by the time he defends a 3rd or 4th time, as he only fights every 8-10 months. If he fights Morales last next he may not get a single defense of the WW title.
He'll be at least 45 by the time he clears out that list. Maybe he'll break Couture's record as the oldest champ ever....not. Neither he nor half those guys (Belal, Usman, Edwards) will still be fighting in 5 years.

My thoughts exactly. I’d be down to see if Usman could keep it standing too even tho he doesn’t deserve it. Still he may be able to cry and politic his way to a shot. It’s been done before

I doubt it, hes already quite late in his career. 2-3 title defences is achievable though. I still think the Ilia fight needs to happen too.

I am interested how Shavkat Nomad deals with this turn of events and Nomad vs Islam… It’s a pretty solid fight.
I doubt that fight happens first because Dana’s already calling the first fight is Islam vs Morales now.

Prates, Shavkot, Usman and Belal/Garry winner seem to be the next to argue who really wants it and can put a stamp on Dana White’s declared “Next , Next, Next Title shot.” There kinda stuck now to sort the pecking order out.

Usman always delivers a solid fight if it’s true he is healthy. Even when he isn’t healthy he doesn’t do too bad. I just don’t see Shavkot taking any fights unless he gets the true champ or the declared “Interm championship” because maybe Islam gets injured or something and the UFC needs to upgrade a main event.
Expect Shavkot to take the stubborn route regardless if Morales gets the “active fighter No1 contender.” He may turn it all down to wait for Islam/ Morales winner.
So either Prates and Usman go in together or the winner or Belal/Garry makes sense.
Prates seems to have just moved into the spot Brady was in. If he delivers on Usman or Belal/Garry type next win. He is right in the mix.

How is ian garry 50/50?

It won't happen, because Ilia isn't going up to 170 and Islam won't come back to 155. Also, Ilia will lose all his stock once Arman takes care of him.

He is already ducking Shavkat

I'd say yes against 2-3 then retires but only if Bilal, Oldman and Edwards goes first or else people would be memeing him for fighting washed ups.

I don't buy into Shavkat hype after Garry put up a fight.
