Yoel Romero made weight in my book

Perhaps you can source me where they changed this ruling? As far as I have found each comission makes their own determination of how they define making weight, and all I have found is that some comissions consider .4 to be making weight as they round down to 170, and some comissions they have to be exact on the dot 170.
Here's Montreal making Bernard Hopkins cut .9lbs of weight. Notice they did not round down like they did with GSP:

Then here's more evidence of Montreal in fact using decimals for weigh-ins, not this round down crap:

http://www.sherdog.com/news/news/UF...oji-Horiguchi-on-Target-for-Title-Clash-85195

Demetrious Johnson (124.5) vs. Kyoji Horiguchi (124.5)

http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2010/12/10/1867933/ufc-124-st-pierre-vs-koscheck-weigh-in-results

Dustin Hazelett (155) vs. Mark Bocek (155.5)
Rafael Natal (185) vs. Jesse Bongfeldt (180.5)
Matt Riddle (170.5) vs. Sean Pierson (170.5)

They sign a contract to fight at a specific weight. For championship fights the contract states it's got to be right on the dot. Any athletic commission that follows the Unified Rules of Mixed Martial Arts follows these rules. So either way you look at it they're required to weigh in at their contractually obligated weight. Commissions that don't follow the unified rules can round to what they want but they don't all use .4 but that's not non title fights only. In the US you won't find any commission that rounds up or down anymore for title or non title fights.

In the real weight class, Romero beats Whittaker. No scales on the streets. They don't cut weight, Romero comes in at like 230 lbs to Whittaker's 195. Now Whittaker can not compete with that. In 1995, no one gave a fuck about "weight". It was about honor and competition. No one would complain about .2 lbs. This is ultimate fighting, not ultimate scale weights.

in the street Whitaker can have a gun GTFO of here with your bullshit lol

Appreciate the info, though it does seem strange they are only using .5 incrments, but get your point. Perhaps after the GSP debacle they indeed changed scale and weight methods, who knows. Still possible they deemed .5 and over to be .5 and anything under .5 to be rounded down, as I doubt they all weighed even and .5 on the scales, so there has to be rounding going on still there.

Lmao how are people making excuses for that fat fuck? Make weight or fuck off to LHW. It’s not like it’s the first time he missed weight either. Really unprofessional and I feel sorry for Bobby who actually made weight and was ready to defend his title.

Romero? Fat Fuck?

Please take a picture of your fatty little love handles you VIRGIN

Unfortunately it was the way I was raised. I was brought up to be prejudiced against prejudiced people and I have never been able to shake the habit.

I bet Romero tries to not even fight. Tries to push for a reschedule or something.

Were you raised by hippies?

Also, no dude, Yoel will fuck him up.

Canada can pretty much do whatever it wants. US athletic commission are held to a little higher of a standard so I wouldn't be surprised if they were rounding to .5 but I don't think it would make any sense. And now that I think about it I'm sure there's plenty of Indian Reservation Commissions that can do whatever they wan't and might round up also.

Actually that rule was just made up that night for GSP. And that wasn't even a US athletic commission, so they can basically do whatever they want. In every US athletic commission the requirement for any championship fight is .0 right on the dot.
It's a Quebec commission rule. Different commission let u go above

should have started spitting in a bottle non stop in addition to everything else he tried to make weight.

Up to 186 should be allowed. This shit is fucking everything up.

Yoel Romero made weight in my book.

It's 0.2 pounds, which in the past and present would have been allowed, in a title fight, depending on the location, and always allowed in any other fights.

The difference in opinions amongst regulatory bodies over different locations may and does exist, but it does not provide a universal criteria for making weight, but for allowing certain requirements to be met before the fight is given a green light.

0.2 pounds out of 185 pounds would mean that

Romero weighed in 0.1 percent, not 1 percent or 10 percent, but 0.1 percent heavier than Whitaker.
You're an idiot for defending him. Try actually cutting a decent amount and you'll know what it feels like. Romero can't make the weight he was obligated to make based on the contract he signed? Move on up.

I read a different book to you ts..
It's called the book of dilligaf...

Everyone seems to forget that Whitaker beat him decisively in the first fight.
Why are you on an MMA forum if you don't watch the fights ?

There is a beautiful comment section on Sherdog front page. Less demanding.

Maybe try your luck there ?

So you are the "bend the rules" type of scumbag, huh?

<3>

Waiting for the AC to use TS' book of rules.

The pint though is that ALL comission's should really have a unified ruleset. If this fight had been in Vegas he would have made weight, as they allow up to .4 to be rounded down and considered 185
That's a bigger case of AC's having different rules. It would different Romero wasn't told which set of rules would apply.

Well you are a pathetic piece of shit

So who cares

Love Yoel, but he has none to blame except himself. You have to make weight. That's why DC will never get a pass from me, he cheated on the scales
