Yair Rodriguez Out for awhile

Dana was very cryptic about this at the presser.

He asked somebody off camera: "Have we not spoken about this publicly yet?"

He then said that Yair didn't turn down any fights and that whatever the issue is none of his/the UFC's business. I'm not sure what that means. Sounds like personal trouble or maybe USADA.

Surely it can't be USADA, wonder if Yair has even been tested since all the covid stuff happened in March? If he popped regarding the Stephens fight we would've heard about it by now given that the fight was last fall.

It might be USADA or maybe his having some serious life issues.

Hopefully whatever it is he comes back soon and actually takes that Zabit fight.

the way it's going, zabit might fight again in the next 5 years...but who knows...he's seriously wasting his prime...he should be fighting anyone...who cares if the guy is ranked lower...how is this guy making any money? keeping sharp...the guy hasn't fought in ages...and no fight scheduled.

Pinche Pantera u make it hard to be a fan. Hope he works we is goin on and fights soon. Either Ige or Gasbit.

Lol. Everyone thinks they are worth more than the company wants to pay. Dana gonna strong arm these dudes or keep them sidelined and in contract until no one remembers their names.
I was thinking it was something like that. Dana was cheerful throughout the interview until someone brought up Yair Rodriguez. After that, Dana became bad-tempered, and wouldn't reveal what was going on except that Yair didn't turn down the Zabit fight. It has to be about money, right?

Some people are not made for fighting and I completely understand the guy. It’s a brutal sport as much as I love it. Hopefully he finds his true purpose in life, he is young!

Hes a beast at fighting lol.

Normally when it's money he says they turned down the fight
Then WTH? As soon as someone asked about Yair Dana's mood turned sour, and soon the interview was over. Dana can be likable and upfront one minute and the next minute it's like WTF?

Such a baseless trumptard perspective
He may be a wench at times but he's got more talent than you're willing to admit and the dude is not a duck
injury prone and drama queen no doubt

Lol. Sorry cupcake, but 5 times? If it walks like a duck...

He could just be irked the dude can't fight again. I didn't think so before, but after watching the clip I'm a little more inclined to think it could be USADA. The way he says it's none of his or the UFC's business means it's unlikely to be money because that's definitely the UFC's business (plus as mentioned, when it's about money Dana usually says they turned down the fight). His surprise that they haven't talked publicly about it or announced it makes me think it might not be a personal issue, because that's not something the UFC typically announces. Probably not COVID because Dana wouldn't have said he's not fighting anytime soon, since COVID only delays them a couple weeks.

Dana always takes a total laissez faire attitude when it comes to issues involving 2 things: USADA and commissions. Whenever there are things that concern them, Dana takes that "It has nothing to do with us" or "It's out of our control" stance. And then he says he won't be fighting for a while, and that means it could be a potential suspension. And a failed drug test is something the UFC might announce themselves since it affects a potential fight. When he says "When they figure it out they'll let us know," the "they" could be Yair and his team or it could be USADA. I would hope it's not a failed drug test, but it's just what came to mind for me.

Yeah it seems like USADA. Dana said he didn't turn down a fight because that's his business and he would know. Either that or some personal problems from Yair's side. He said when they have it figured out they'll let him know. USADA doesn't give out info until after going through the process and Dana did say he doesn't think he's going to fight soon. I'm leaning towards USADA because at how upset Dana got talking about it and getting asked questions about it. When Whittaker was dealing with personal problems he had a different tone and was hoping everything was ok with him. When people are injured he isn't pissed off about it either.

Can he just fuck off already

5th time now
Just admit you're shook

Lol. Sorry cupcake, but 5 times? If it walks like a duck...
He's a head case for sure but not a duck

clearly a difference

Yair took Jeremy Stephens soul after people said he was ducking him. Seriously this fight put Stephens in a tailspin

what makes you think Yair is afraid of a chaulky blood cell like Zabit? It's weird to me Zabit is even coveted. Fights yearly now and def picks and chooses opponents Also can't go past 3 rounds to save his ass it's hard for me to believe fans actually take Zabit seriously

I don't understand it

Soon after the king of excuse Jeff Novisit will make an gibberish excuse for Ya-rear
