I'd say give him that if the fight ends up being in November/December later than he wants, otherwise in an ideal world they are talking about the UFC doing another PPV event in Australia, would be a sick card with Volk defending the FW belt. Add the Reaper, Tuivasa, Hooker, Kai Kara any other guys who missed on the Perth card plus some of the standouts on the Perth card, Jenkins, Tafa JDM you've got another banger.
Do you mean regardless of the outcome of the fight with Charles or are you automatically supposing Dariush beats Charles?
Rational argument to make but I'd ask what's your definition of proper LW contender, if Dariush loses ditto Fiviez is there another LW who'd be deserving of a title shot? Would you give Charles another LW title shot with a win over Dariush one fight removed from getting absolutely run over by Islam? Would you give Gaethje one with a win over Fiziev? Who else is there, Chandler's fighting McGregor, Poirier? Turner with a few more wins?

Fight's already locked and loaded for May, short of an injury think that fights happening. Unless Dariush comes out of that fight relatively unscatched he's not figthing till what August/September again at earliest. Fiviez might be the next up as he's fighting Gaethje what in a few weeks. Admittedly fighting Gaethje's not exactly going to show how Fiziev would fare against Islam but if he goes in and stop hims think it would be hard for him not be right in the mix for the next shot. Then should Charles get the best of Dariush think Fiviez would be pretty much the sole contender.
Charles beats Dariush and your saying he's obviously next? Disagree with that. Imo the nature of the prior loss to Islam should mean he'd need at least another win.
And Islam tore through him in a similar fashion, bottom line was it was one sided. If he wins he'll surely call for it, deserve it though, no. Circumstances would have to eliminate other viable contenders and he'd be given it by dint of no other better option would be how he got that rematch.
So largely the loss to Islam and the fashion of said loss means virtually nothing to you? A one fight win streak despite the fact he's one fight removed from being dominated by the current champion would make to use your word Charles the obvious contender, over say a Fiviez with a win over Gaethje, a new contender for Islam and would who be on a what 7 fight streak with the W? Logically then it doesn't matter to you how Charles beats Dariush, just the fact he does, in your eyes it means he should unequivocally be next. Interesting.
