okay, lets do the rematch in June maybe July, can't wait for Yair stalling tactics and a fight in Mexico.

But it must not be in Austalia, let them fight in Islam's turf.
 
Good interview and effort on the cliffs lad. Agree a rematch in that timeframe works given Yair doesn't want to fight till September. If Dariush loses to Charles there's not necessarily an immediate number one contender at LW so a rematch could work in June/July then Volk could fight again Sep/Oct maybe November. and the UFC can then give Yair his wish if he has to wait a few months extra to have the fight in Mexico.
 
Isn't Holloway vs Allen happening in April? Maybe if Allen wins they can do Allen vs Volk in July and strip Yair of the interim belt unless he changes his mind and decides to fucking fight for a change. (dude seems to like being inactive and avoiding fights). If Islam vs Volk is going to happen, it needs to happen pretty soon after Ramadan too because Beneil should ABSOLUTELY get a title shot before years end.

I follow your timeline but can't cosign the challenger calling the shots on home field advantage.

They shouldn't make Benny vs Charles but they are and in May, so if you make Islam vs Volk in June, then you can do other fights after that.
 
Too bad for Yair he aint the champ so...what is stopping the UFC from making Islam vs Volk again?

If Yair needs a month or two to heal up that's reasonable. Needs until September to fight for the belt? GTFO with that shit. You either are ready for the shot or you're not.

Islam has Ramadan until April 21st, he can't start a training camp until May, I really do not think we will see him fight before August. Champions will want a minimum of 8 weeks but more realistically 10 for a training camp and ontop of that there's always going to be dealing with managers, minor injuries, PPV timing, deciding on locations and pay and % of PPV etc. It just will get to the point where August wouldn't make sense to do Volk vs Islam 2 when by that time you could just do Volk vs Yair and Beneil vs Islam anyways. There will be no June, seriously doubtful of even a late July.
