4 out of 4
Walking in and out of the arena, amirite?!This is true.
If they were in Alberta you may have seen garbage.
The problem you run into with having more matches on the show is if you want to give them time to cook, you end up having shows that go so long the crowd is dead by the end of it.Got a question for the regular WWE viewers.
So Elimation Chamber was 3.5 hours long (no commercials)... with four matches.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but when wrestling was on cable they had at least 15 minutes for each hour, so for a 3-hour show they had 2 hours & 15 minutes and they usually had at least seven matches, right?
My point is, although they apparently have no time constraints now so they can give matches the time they deserve, I hope they'd keep in mind the audience's time.
Not every match has to be a 20-30 minute barnburner.
That said, this had two EM matches in it, so its understandable they each were 40 minutes.
And was I the only one that was underwhelmed by the KO/Sammy hardcore match? Wouldn't put this on the list of the best matches they've ever had. That should have been the main event on Raw.
Props to Cena/Cody and even Rock for handing the behavior of Scott professionally and not letting it ruin their moment. How offputtingWhen John Cena shared that picture early yesterday that had him, The Rock and Travis Scott on it saying it's can't miss, instant red flags. I liked all the little crumbs being dropped along the way and looks like Cena will probably do the classic heel run and then find his way towards the end to retire with his head held high.
The choice to have Travis Scott out there being overly distracting during a huge moment years in the making was a bad choice. I did see he wasn't supposed to be in the ring as often as he was which is why the camera shots looks odd at times trying to push him out of view.
That was almost me.I feel sorry for anybody that reads through this, missed the PLE, and plans to watch it later. It would be like watching "The Usual Suspects" in reverse. For a wrestling fan anyway.
The magic is still there, incredible chemistry. I'm sure we'll get Cena/Punk again.
However it goes, there's plenty of time for a decent heel run and redemption angle, who better than with Punk!I'm thinking that'll be the match that Cena turns babyface after again.
It'd be downright Shakespearean for Punk's trash talk to remind Cena of who he once was.
He's scheduled for something like 30-40 dates on his retirement tour. Even if he only shows up once or twice between now and Mania, I think Cody could carry the lead up to it on his own if need be. Hell, Drew carried the whole feud with Punk until Punk was able to be cleared to compete and that was months.Alot of people have seen saying 'OMG that was the GOAT heel turn!'
It was damn good.
Maybe even great.
Definitely the best heel turn of the last few years.
But here is the problem -
John is immediately going back to Africa to continue filming that movie.
He won't be on Raw tonight, or the Raw after that.
Every great heel turn isn't just dependent on the turn itself, but also the next few appearances to really milk the fans with a 'heel promo.'
And apparently John, until further notice, is just scheduled to do the premium events.
So good luck building up John as a heel when he's not even there, or even with Rock not being there.
