Economy WSJ reports Tesla is looking to Replace Elon as CEO

It makes sense when you think about it. For years they told us they found Trump to be very masculine. And we were confused.
But a few of them posted photos of themselves. And it all made sense. Of course Steven Miller would look intimidating to @Whippy McGee . Who wouldn't?
They are Michael Knowls puffing on a cigar level of masculinity. Lmaoooooooo

You Lefties kept telling us Trump is stupid. You need to make up your minds.
not sure its just "da left" that thinks trump is stupid

"Donald Trump Was the Dumbest Goddam Student I Ever Had." -Professor William T. Kelley, Wharton

Donald Trump was “stupid as well as being ill-tempered,” a “despicable human being” and a “narcissist -Mitch Mconnel

Vance described Trump as “reprehensible,” “noxious” and “an idiot” and wrote in a tweet that he would not vote for Trump in the 2016 presidential election - JD Vance, trump VP

Elon Musk Melts Down Over Report That Tesla Is Considering Replacing Him

Musk and Tesla say they told The Wall Street Journal its report of a headhunt was false. The WSJ says no such statement was provided

Ooops...

Anyways... continue on with y'alls circle jerk and spooging on each other

It's why I was challenging that he had the easier road with Trump. He didnt

I actually think he's very savvy, but it's limited to financials and promotion. His company is a meme stock it's so overinflated, but it works. He hoovers up government funding and subsidies with impressive ease.

Unfortunately the 'skill' used most recently isn't that impressive. He's an oligarch doing oligarch shit for a president that absolutely demands to be surrounding by loyal oligarchs.

You can see easily why his popularity has diminished.

Whether he gets the boot from Tesla or not will be decided this calendar year. If he remains in charge, he'll be there for the long haul. But I wouldn't bet on it either way. He's no longer flying under the radar doing all this clever negotiating and lobbying, he's doing it all out in the open and people hate it, and as a result, him.
I have actual meme coins, and his stock is nowhere near that. He's certainly a salesman, and a lot of folks believe him for good reason

1. He's got the top selling car worldwide

2. His top cars dominate multiple continents, which is very tough to do.

3. His top cars are priced high and still dominate units sold compared to much lesser priced items.

you combine these factors, and you've got something special, on top of self driving cars, and unprecedented rockets that land themselves that are reusable.

elon himself predicts that tesla will be the top car manufacturer followed by chinese........ no mention of german, american, uk, etc..... and considering this already happened in china, there's probably something to it. We're only a month away from robotaxi

I think you've pretty much nailed it actually.

The Tesla stock price should be around that of Toyota, which is what, 190?

Toyota sell more cars than Tesla do, and there's no sign that's going to change, but as of the end of 2024 having the best selling model plus a bunch of other stuff that may or may not factor into Tesla's future considering Musk has several other outlets, I really don't see an argument for it being significantly above Toyota.

For me, what you've written, underlines that argument rather than undermines it.

It came close to being appropriately price, but remained overpriced, and at 280 it's just meme level. It does not have that value at all, at least to me, I don't see it. But that's not me saying it will drop to 190 and remain, because it's consistently overperformed based on extraneous promises about this, that, or the other.

@HOLA is legit the King at making threads that backfire. He has been for some years now. I love it.
I love how he tried to save it, by making fun of Musk for being annoyed at the fake news. Just totally handwaved his OP away, to try and turn it into a "Musk is Mad at Fake Headlines, LOL" thread.

It's like laughing about shitting your own pants, and then calling people weird for noticing the smell.

Our thoughts on this diverged, lol. I don't think Elon realized how unpopular this would make him. This wasn't a part of the plan.
It's not about that.. had he hitched his wagon to the dems with his product.... he would have been much more secure.

I think if he had stayed out of politics, he would have been much better off. When you have a brand, and Elon is his own brand, wading into politics will automatically alienate a certain segment of people. Just my $0.02.

Poor Elon. Did anyone start a gofundme yet for him? I better not see anyone laughing at this.

Well elon is promising/selling a lot more than autos, his auto ventures will be the smaller of industries, the projected megapack expansion to allow for a grid that can handle these cars, has a 150% gain in a year, projected to double then triple. Robotaxi is supposedly going to be a bigger market cap than cars, easier to implement than cars, able to ramp up production to a vehicle in five seconds, by far faster than any vehicle. And the biggest one of all is optimus, it’s a gamble, turns out that general purpose robots are tough to build, but a general purpose robot that can help with assisted living, houshold chores, dangerous human tasks, it’s got a major market cap that can exceed the total vehicle market and the race is on. I trust intelligence in the FSD systems is unmatched and will carry over to the robots, and nobody in all of history has the knack of scaling like elon.

I don't disagree. The effective thing for powerful people is to work behind the scenes playing both sides in my opinion.

Elon has been promising his camera-only robotaxi every year since like 2015 and they still aren't here; meanwhile Waymo just did 250,000 paid rides in 1 week.

And in case you think criticism of him is due to politics, I'd like to point out Fortune Magazine's poll of business leaders from America's largest companies: they've voted Elon as the most overrated CEO for 3 years in a row now. Your boy sucks.
