A particularly funny bit was when someone defended the people in the thread, saying that no one was saying that unrealized capital gains should be taxed. I said that that was what the whole thread was about, and he said well they didn't read it and were just responding to the headline. I actually think he's right (upon reflection), but that's not much of a defense!

Ed: Side note, the idea that Biden ran on "nothing will fundamentally change" for rich people is such bullshit. Lots of sleazy leftists repeat it (though in that case it was a Republican). I read the transcript of the broader remark (made one time--not like a campaign theme). He was saying that inequality is high and we have to do something about it, but it's not like you guys aren't still going to be rich. Sick the way people latch on to that kind of thing and use it to define people.

It's actually natural but some people give it an exaggerated effect along with the stereotypical lispy voice, type of language used and physical demeanor in general. It isn't really my crowd but I invariably do intersect with them. A lot of the "flamer" types will actually scale back the extrovert act if you engage them in serious discussion. I've found that lot of these guys are masking some severe emotional pain and are the most prone to "randomly" commit suicide a day after they were the life of the party.

To expand on this, it reminds me of something a read the baseball writer Bill James say about Bo Jackson when I was a kid that stuck with me. First some background: Jackson had referred to playing in the NFL as being like a hobby (in a press conference while reassuring people that the Royals were his priority). Well, he was fucking crucified for that. People would go to games mocking him for thinking that the NFL was a hobby, talk radio people talked shit about him, etc. James was like (this is from a childhood memory so it's a very rough paraphrase), "who knows more about how hard it is to play in the NFL--Bo Jackson or the jackass holding that sign?" and also, "It was an unprepared comment by a not-particularly articulate guy; not like his personal philosophy." Everyone knows that, but it's acceptable in some circles to just keep repeating shit that people they oppose for whatever other reason said as if it defines them.

I do the Limp wrist thing and have most of the mannerisms of cam from modern family .... that ahit must come from somewhere but I don't think being gay is the cause.

Like if me and nodak were standing next to each other and you had to place bets on which of us were gay I would bet money most people would guess wrong

Far as I can tell it's not that feminine men are gay so much as when they were growing up they had no men around to model themselves off of.

That lispy talk on the other hand seems to be a behavior a lot of dudes will take up I think as a way to signal to the world like hey honey I'm right here !

I would think every cop hates a guy like that. He's goes and fucks up publicly and the rest of you now have a harder job and people mistrust you more.

I'm telling you it would do a lot of good in the world if a video of a guy like you kicking the shit out of a guy like him for being out of line would come out.
