Paraphrasing even more generously from memory, I had a great exchange with him once that went like this:

Greoric: "Asian culture, specifically Chinese, is essentially second place. They have the discipline, but never got around to inventing freedom. Only white people came up with that."
Me: "_wat_"
Greoric: "What?"
Me: "....."
Greoric: "You are so stupid, Pete."
I’ll never forget him saying it’s good heuristics to shoot black people that ring your door. That word is mangled for me.

I said once (paraphrasing from memory), "so you're saying that if we let too many non-whites in America, we'll end up like Norway or at least the Northeast U.S. because non-whites have a genetic propensity to vote that way?" His response was that white people are the most generous (non sequitur). It's kind of frustrating, kind of amusing when someone totally (if temporarily) abandons their premise immediately under challenge while maintaining the position that was supposed to follow from the premise.

Weren't you crying last week about folks talking shit on people not around to defend themselves?

Dennis Prager used to explicitly make that argument. That without legal and social discouragement of homosexuality, everyone would do it, and it would destroy the prevailing family structure. I'm not judging, but that's definitely one of those points that reveals maybe more than the person making it would like to.

Isn’t this the same view they have on legalizing drugs? Or at least decriminalizing them?

“well if we decriminalize heroin that 50 year Old guy who’s never done drugs Might become an addict.”

Explicitly legalizing (meaning regulation) harder drugs would likely lessen addiction and the crippling effects of addiction. Consistent dosing and purity would make it way harder to overdose and almost impossible to accidentally overdose.

You wouldn't have shifty dealers who might oversell to new customers to build a tolerance, and then lower the dose forcing them to buy more to get "as high", effectively hooking them. Clean needles would be easier to attain. Now you can get them at drug stores, but they can deny you if you believe you're using them for drugs. It might even drive down the price of Narcan. I keep some around because I occasionally use opiates and have friends that do as well, but it's around 125 bucks from the pharmacy.

You wouldn't have fent contaminations at all.

No one is suddenly going to start doing heroin because it's legalized. People who are weary of harder drugs aren't suddenly going to dive in. But it sure as fuck would be a lot safer for those who do partake.

At this point, I just advocate that people invest in testing kits. You don't have to "waste" a lot of a drug to test for contaminants, and you can legally buy them online.
