I don’t think I have any rivals but maybe some people who don’t like me at all.

Considering you are a lounge regular now, you'll have a hard time finding legit rivals being part of this gang.

You're insulted by Inga being on your level? I got Madmick, ffs. We've never had a real ideological argument, but people think we're rivals because he's given me the majority of my cards. If anyone is my rival, it's Rod1. We just happen to like each other.

Not sure I can even think of any real rivals here, let alone equally matched ones. Maybe Fawlty and Heretic.
@Rod1

My mother had a unique upbringing away and my step dad is a truly amazing man.

Ya know, officially having the stepdad adopt you and changing your name to his name (+ Jr.) would be a great way to dishonor your father. If you want to sprint in the opposite direction of what JDragon suggested.

I don't dislike my dad enough for that. He was never abusive, and he let me live with him when I was doing the rebellious teenage bullshit. We are just VERY different people with VERY different values.

I'm very on board with the train crowd.

Seems on par with the "but our population is way bigger than Norway's" shit. Just reflexive justifications to excuse the norm. And it's not all in bad faith. I had a roommate at the age of 19 who said that to me, and he was a lifelong Democrat and thought Republicans were jokes. In retrospect, he actually reminds me of Fawlty. Really funny with a very sharp sense of humor but kind of thin-skinned and prone to waywardness. Although I've seen pics of Fawlty, and he's much better looking than this guy. Not sure why I needed to add that.

Can I adopt you then? Since you're in Kentucky and are therefore a hillbilly, I can refer to you as my hillbaby.

My wife actually did that (got adopted by her step dad as an adult, her late father was totally useless). Fun fact: as we were already married, I had to formally approve it.
