The writing was not professional quality and the point was basic, but it is true that people get these collective obsessions, and that bad things tend to result from them.
Like with most shitty takes, there is some element of truth scattered somewhere. So yeah, there is a segment of the progressive movement that try to out-left everyone else and that rejects anyone that isn't fully, ultra-progressive (the Jimmy Dore crowd).
But he goes way off to the extreme. Suggesting that holding the Green New Deal (which is VERY popular among Democratic voters) as a litmus test for progressivism is a sign of extremism is straight up stupid.
Moderates like him need to realize that that level of progressivism is now the norm among Democrats. So either hop on board or GTFO.
