The 2017 one, obviously. Not the 2005.

Steam still charging 40 dollars I believe?

Nah, it was at fire sale prices for a bit there. Anyone who wanted it would be able to get it for cheap.

I just don't like Epic. I'm anti-launchers on principle. Uplay, epic, battle net, all them hoes. It took me 10 years to get an origin account, and that's only because steam didn't have Mass Effect 3.

Got it. The last game I spent money on was probably AoE 2, so I don't really care.

I only have the Epic store for the free game.

If you're not paying for the product, you are the product. That's real life.

I can't in good faith reward a company with my personal information for shitty business practices. And all their lackeys are dead with them in my eyes. Gearbox, Ubisoft, IOI, anything Deep Silver, basically don't exist to me anymore.

The honest fact though is there's so many goddamn launchers now you need Steam + at least one other as far as I can tell.

The only other one I got pulled into was Origin, and EA just owned Origin being a big fail in their return to Steam. Thing about that is that I give a pass for first party. I might not like it, but it at least makes sense. Buying third party exclusives because you can't compete straight up is when I burn them and don't look back.

That's why I can't knock Sony for keeping their games on PS. They did make them after all. But when Microsoft pulls BGS from their system, they can't cry foul.

I was having the conversation the other day, but Danny Carey is the only reason Tool is remotely interesting.
I’ve seen them live 3 times and he was the only reason I went. If you get a chance go he’s worth the price of admission.

BGS? Feel like I should know what that is.

I don't fault Ubi for having a launcher since they make a lot of stuff in house but they also still let their games get bought elsewhere too. You usually get the better discounts for Ubi games through their system though when there are sales.

Bethesda Game Studios. Microsoft is in the process of acquiring Zenimax (their parent company) right now.

Whenever I listen to Tool (rarely), the thought always crosses my head that the vast majority of their songs would be mediocre with a lesser drummer.

Ubi went full in bed with Epic, they don't even release on Steam anymore.

They even re-released the Scott Pilgrim game after literal years of people begging for it...only on Epic. Oh well, I didn't want it that bad.
