A timely tweet

Little finger was cast well. Just once the writers ran out of book dialogue to copy line for line, they couldn't do anything with him that wasn't painful to witness

I did like the Podrick song homage to Pippin's song in Return of the King.

The LF actor ruins the character for me. His accent is all over the place, his constant smirking and talking out the side of his mouth. He also takes dialogues that are borderline ridiculous in the first place and makes them way worse, like the climb one ("It didn't give me any enjoyment, and she didn't get any enjoyment, but I've procured a friend whose enjoyment is very enjoyable indeed murrrrrr.")

They missed a real opportunity in not casting Yao Ming.

I didn't watch the interview, but after watching Piers Morgan get bent out of shape I am firmly Team Meg & Harry

I don't know anything about the controversy really (I've gathered that Markle was open about her insecurities in re the royal family and got lampooned by the media?), but one should always line up against the British press. To call it bourgeois would be incorrect, because really it's a deeply corrupt neo-monarchist institution. A majority of the country's national newspapers are expressly aligned with the Tories, all are tied to billionaire benefactors, and the two that are aligned with Labour spent years openly trashing Corbyn and campaigning for utterly useless centrist twats like Chuka Umunna. It might seem like I'm digressing, but the Tory dominance in the last 30 years has been delivered by the media: in spite of Labour's major policies being far, far more popular, the papers have made elections about culture war bullshit - and the obsession over the royal family is right in line with that.

Some good reading:

As much as may seem wrong with the MSM here in the States, it's exponentially better than the media in the UK.

No screeching. I asked your opinion on restricting that money from being spent on non-child related things like tattoos and casinos. You immediately started screeching about some bullshit.

Government: Passes child tax credit to benefit children to reduce childhood poverty.

Honest question: Should we put in securities to prevent that money from being spend irresponsibly on such things as tattoos and casinos? Ya know, as a means to protect the children this money is intended to benefit.

Reasonable answer: Well, yes we would obviously want that money to be spent on the intended purpose of raising and protecting children from the dangers of poverty (mental and physical). However, at this point its would delay these important checks from being dispersed. Additionally, we feel that the % of people who would waste this money is relatively insignificant and a cost benefit analysis would probably show that those protections would actually limit how much we can dispense to the families that need it.

Jack V. Savage's answer: THiS iS WhY i HaTE TrUE pRogResSives; tHey HaTE POoR pEoPLe!!!

Your response to the monumental good news was to bring up the discussion where you supported the sickening Kansas dehumanize the poor bill, which completely undermines your claim to be a True Progressive (sooo progressive, in fact, that no plausible candidate is acceptable to you and you're totally indifferent between slashing healthcare access or just increasing it a lot but not all the way). Also, note that my answer to your question was this:

Should? No. Should be able to? Yes. Similarly, I don't think the gov't should tell people who get their money from jobs or owning businesses that they're not allowed to get tattoos (or that the gov't should try to reduce incomes for everyone because people might spend their money wrong). My take is that once people's money is theirs, it's theirs. I don't think that poor people should be treated as subhuman the way some fake leftists I could name do.

Which is actually in line with what you called a reasonable answer. Also, I don't think that True Progressive hate poor people; just that they don't care about them, or at least not as much as about their personal aggrandizement. This bill would not have passed if Biden hadn't won the presidency AND Democrats hadn't won in Georgia, two outcomes that True Progressives were indifferent to. All the kids lifted out of poverty by this (with all that entails) are not worth the True Progressive getting to feel smug and superior to people who actually care.

@Trotsky is Merrick Garland being confirmed as AG a big deal or are people just making it a big deal due to the denied SC seat?

Screeching intensifies.

You can't answer questions like a normal human being. Insinuating that somebody is fake and treats people as if their subhuman is not a reasonable answer to a reasonable question.
And I'm not sure how to take your comment; On one hand you say you hate True Progressives and now your saying I'm not one for the same reasons you hate them.

edit: you obviously care more about appearing like you care about poor people than you actually care about poor people. You have no idea what would have passed in your alternate reality where. Joe Biden isn't POTUS. There is no reason to believe that this bill wouldn't have passed under Bernie Sanders. And for the record, I've remarked several times how pleasantly surprised I've been by Joe's administration so far.

I have no reason whatsoever to believe it's a big deal. He's not a left-wing nominee whatsoever. As a jurist, he was very deferential to the government and to the administrative bureaus.

That the Republican Senate mostly voted against him tells the same story as it did when they refused to take up his SC nomination in 2016: they're partisan hacks.

How about 3rd and most known mountain actor?

But yeah, the season 2 guy just didn't fit at all

The new/most well-known Mountain was imperfect just based on his being much younger than the actor playing his younger brother.

IRL, HJB is 20 years younger than Rory McCann. Luckily, you see his face for like....3 seconds in the whole series.

The lounge sure has been spicy today. Also.. I'm beginning to think the homeless people all shared either K2 or bath salts because the crackheads are acting tf out today. Reminds me of the time I was at my old job watching a bunch of 'em do heroin for a birthday then get into the slowest group brawl I've ever seen in my life, followed by a pretty wild OD. I think I posted the video here back then.

On a political note though....Does anyone else just absolutely adore Katie Porter?

Porter is the lead sponsor of Ending Taxpayer Welfare for Oil and Gas Companies Act, legislation introduced last week that would—according to a summary from the California congresswoman's office—"raise royalties, rental rates, inspection fees, and penalties on oil and gas companies that extract resources from public lands."

"Public lands are a collective national treasure that belong to the American people—polluters that want to extract energy on these lands owe taxpayers a fair price," Porter said in a statement. "We haven't raised the rental rate for mining on public lands since I was in junior high, and we've been charging oil and gas companies the same royalty rate for over 100 years. My Ending Taxpayer Welfare for Oil and Gas Companies Act would protect taxpayers and give these prices a decades-overdue update."

Following Tuesday's hearing, Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.) welcomed Porter to sign on to his bill with Rep. Sean Casten (D-Ill.) calling for the elimination of nearly a dozen tax provisions that "unfairly benefit oil and gas companies."

Bronn wants a word on the casting choices.

Though, show Bronn is like 3 different book characters rolled into one. And it got REAL awkward when you couldn't have him and Cersei together in a scene because real life shit made it so that the actress playing Cersei couldn't stand being around the guy that played Bronn.

@Gregolian it finally passed.

Now you just need to have a couple of kids so you can get those sweet sweet child tax credits
...... or... or.... I have no kids and get meself a nice house, dog, and more guns.

It's such a common phenomenon that there's an Urban Dictionary entry about it from 2008

White SJW women are the absolute fucking worst and a huge thorn in the side of the leftist movement right now. I honestly put them in the same category as the "shoot your yeti coolers and boycott the NFL" types on the right. Surface value solicitation of false virtue. Most of them are upper middle class/rich, who have never studied leftist history nor theory. Most telling though, is that they're willing to steal the spotlight and diminish POC issues, while also being scared of being around black people.

I've taken white girls out to local spots to grab some crawfish, turkey necks, potatoes, fried rice, and boiled shrimp at the best prices with that boil spice so good you crackin open those tiny claws like proletariat lobster and they usually say the same thing. "This place is kind of scary". Ain't even in the Ninth, ain't even out East, nobody has even been shot there in years which is a huge accomplishment, but still scared. Tsk Tsk.

They however are the single most fun group to IRL shitpost and troll if you're the door guy to a nightclub.

Also, I think you'd enjoy this series:

Only has like 21 episodes right now though.

Dogs do not qualify for the Child Tax Credit.

I looked into it

Agreed on Bronn being the best character
