I did 4 ten hours shifts for about 5 years.

It is nice to have extra day off during the week but I would get pressured to stay, and have to work
past 5:30 pm quitting time because most of the other staff had left.

Always preferred a 7 day WW

Not sure if you were joking here, but I am pretty much doing this. I work full days MWF, half days (while checking email in afternoon) TuTh, and then coming in Saturday and Sunday mornings to get what needs done. I love it honestly. One of my main employees creates her own schedule and pretty much works 6 days a week based on workload. Our clients do not work traditional 9-5 hours, so why would we? Although I'm probably putting in around 40 hours on a typical week, I've had a pretty strong response from clients when they see that I'm sending things out on Saturday or Sunday mornings. I also rarely feel buried with this schedule to where I used to doing the typical 5 days a week. There was always a shitload to catch up on.

Yeah. Would be cool to work 4x10 instead of 5x8.

Shit, I'd even take 4x12.

Could have one more extra day for sidegigs and make even more money.

Win/win
You're supposed to cut down to 32 hours. Work less not more hours per day.

I got the immigrant mentality.

Surely, with less hours the overall pay would go down too, no?

Otherwise it's just burning money

I’m a big proponent of busting out the hours for 20 years or so and making the money…I was able to do that, and back off the pedal in my mid 40s..everyone is different, but most people have a prime , and that’s the time to earn and save..

That's awesome.

How do you like that schedule? Is it much better than 5-8s?

Ultimately, yes. The one downside is that on your work days it's typically kinda hard to do anything else. When you work 5-8's it's generally pretty easy to catch a movie or something on days that you work, with 4-10 is generally come home, you eat dinner and have a couple a couple hours of free time but the window is more limited than you might think because "it's only two hours". But it makes a big impact on free time on work days.

But then the obvious perk is the 3 days off which is niiiiiice. And then if you catch a day off or use a vacation day or whatever you're literally working less than half the week.

So overall it's totally worth it but I think the one big drawback is something that most people might not anticipate having the impact that it does.

Lol. Good mentality to have :)

But to answer. No. Pay should adjust accordingly otherwise the 4 day work week already exists. Along with the 6 and 7 day weeks.

I have worked 4 day work weeks.
Personally I'd like to have Sat-Mon off.

No, it sounds cool but output decreases with hours worked. I worked 3 12s when I was younger & it fit with my party life. I'd go in at 6 PM on Monday & get off at 6 AM on Tuesday. I'd finish the week on Thursday at 6 AM. I'd have all weekend off. It was fun for a short time.

I like seasonal work. Go hard for a few months and chill.

The only downside I can see is that companies will have even more incentive to send jobs overseas where they still work 5 days.

Voted "no"

Only because that would be one more day than my current gig. Currently working 3 x 12 but get paid 42 hrs.

Depends, I feel like I'd still get calls on my day off, and I'd want the same money.

Alright, who voted no?

I was 4x10's but the ten hour days have gotten to me. Now I just work whenever I want until I hit 40 hrs or my work is done.
