The press were at least as hard on him as they were on Trump, with the constant insults, calling him out for screwing up simple lines like “fool me once, shame on, you don’t get fooled again” etc. They played his missteps on repeat. He still didn’t revoke press credentials because he isn’t a petty blowhard, he could actually handle criticism. People threw shoes at him he just ducked.

With Trump, you get some new idiocy every day so you don’t have to play anything on repeat. It’s a constant cycle of fresh content.

All in, Bush was responsible for a million deaths in Iraq so it’s hard to say he was a better president: a war criminal with decorum is still a war criminal. If Trump invades Iran that changes things...

Americans generally have never used war/killing as metric for quality of leadership.

America and its western allies didnt and still dont give a f*ck up Arabs and conservatives (and many if not most liberals) were in support of attacking Afghanistan and Iraq.


Bush was a continuation of US imperialism against non-European nations.
