Would MMA look bad if artem got stopped?

After being gifted another shot on one the worst seasons of TUF in years. How did he do in the final and his fights in the UFC, he embarrassed himself.

he took top 10 opponents to distance. he aint as bad as people are trying to betray him as

No, Paulie is a world champ and this is just boxing, no kicking, grappling or subs. Artem got eliminated from TUF in the house entry fight, then needed an unprecedented draft so Conor would not leave the show, that is how mid tier/low level he is. The only larger blow than Artem beating Paulie would have been Conor KO'ing May - Paulie is really like Mayweather to Paulie, that is really how large the gap is.
Yeah except this isn't actually "Boxing" at all which is a fact everyone seems to be ignoring.

This is as far out of Paulie's comfort zone as it is Artems and the rules, ring size and shape, lack of gloves and fight length all serve to work against Paulie's style, as does starting each round toe to toe instead of out of your corner giving you time to set up and dictate the first engagement and prolonged clinch fighting being allowed.

I still thing Paulie wins but this is not "just Boxing" and people seem to be getting hung up on that word instead of actually looking at it for what it is and considering the many variables.

Yeah, if this was pure Boxing under the Marquis of Queensbury rules Paulie wins in a landslide but its not and while Paulie should still win its not a forgone conclusion IMO.

True, and I've been an advocate how the special rule set of BKFC, time limits, ring size helps MMA fighters more, but they are still throwing just hands, something Paulie has done like his whole life and reached the highest levels, where as Artem is an MMA brawler. To me, it is akin to a BJJ gi world champ no gi grappling an MMA fighter blue belt in no gi. In many ways, bare knuckle is more pure boxing than normal boxing, as they added gloves after John L Sullivan's era. Also, I heard they needed to use some type of gloves per state law? Will be interesting what it looks like if so.

Paulie has very brittle hands, so I have no idea why he’d a take a bare knuckle fight.

Artem could win if Paulie hurts his hands, which is a real possibility.

Yeah I'm hearing that too but haven't seen what the actual gloves look like.

Its true it maybe closer to pure Boxing (which actually started out also involving grappling and takedowns) but that's irrelevant as Paulie didn't grow up Boxing hundred's of years ago and therefore has no experience in this style of fight.

For the record Boxing is my first love and I've been a fan for over 30 years and definitely hope Paulie gets it done but there are enough variables that take Paulie out of his element to concern me instead of joining the "Paulie wins easily because he's a Boxer crowd".

This is not the Boxing Paulie knows and was successful in.

Absolutely not. Artem is a hard headed can than has some power, not a lot.

Going in against a former pro boxer, neither looks pretty bad losing this one imo.

Artem has a sub 500 mma record man..... he is a regional level fighter that happens to know Conor.
yeah, pretty much this. but people say and think stupid things, so in answer to the op, maybe.

Paulie has never ever been known for having punching power and on top of that he has extremely brittle hands that are prone to breaking (like Floyd but worse) . Artem is known as one of the toughest mma fighters and he has only been stopped once early in his career.

would you lose respect for artem if he lost to a fresh out of retirement Paulie , and would it look bad for MMA in general to you?

Artem doesnt represent mma hes like 12 wins 12 losses

Who said it would be a war because Artem is always game... thissss guy.

No. Everyone knows boxers would get murked in MMA, that's why the fights always have to be under boxing rules.

No way.
Artem wins everyone's happy.
Artem loses, then he lost to a career boxer.
His stock wont go down.
Especially if there's controversy in the fight, I'm sure Pauly will try something sneaky and shady to slow Artem down.

No, he’s a subpar mma fighter competing against a professional boxer in boxing. Most expect him to lose and get outclassed thoroughly. Worst he can do is meet those expectations and nobody is surprised. He comes out looking good if he survives all rounds or puts up any sort of a fight. Basically a no lose situation for him and has zero effect on mma fighter perception.

Who the hell cares about Artem Lobov in or out of mma...
