Would Joanna beat Rousey if they were same weight and same size?

The thing about Joanna is she has a similar mentality as Ronda. She's gonna work her ass off to get better at her weaknesses.

wait a minute, Ronda wont go up, so why JJ should?
at 115 JJ would win:icon_chee

she has speed a movement to stiff jab kayaking Ronda and circle away.
straight shots and gtfaway.
JJ grappling coach is from Judo.

Jedrzejczyk grappling coach is Szymon Bońkowski - Judo Black belt (2nd Dan), BJJ Black belt(under Robert Drysdale), Black belt in JuJutsu.

No wonder that her tdd improves so fast.

Yes, easily. Ronda would bullrush because no girl in the 135 pound division has power in their hands nor an idea of keeping the distance, not a single one. Joanna would blow her face up if she did that. Joanna's takedown defense is pretty good. the best wrestlers in Joanna's division can't take her down. Ronda has excellent judo and she can probably toss Joanna in the clinch, but Joanna isn't retarded and will fight at a distance most of the fight and will wear Rousey down leading to a TKO. Joanna wins.

This isn't anywhere near as easy as you seem to think it is.

Easily? wow, nobody can beat her in an easy way, no striker, judoka, wrestler or whatever, she is tough, strong, and very skilled, to say that somebody can beat her easily is an ignorant comment

I think Joanna would tool her on the feet and her takedown defense has proven to be stellar. Still don't know if she could stop that takedown though. What say you sherdog?
Her take down defense wasn't steller against Gadelha. It wasn't even that good. But there is no shame in being taken down by someone like Rousey.

Gadelha was able to get into clinch with Joanna without much problem.

Even if Joanna was same size as Ronda it will not end well if you let Ronda clinch with you.

Ronda via 1st round armbar

I think if Joanna dirty bulked to 135 she'd actually be a good challenge. A fat Joanna would still be the best striker at 135lbs.

she would turn rondas face to hamburger meat. she can keep her distance so well that she defends most singles and doubles. how is ronda gonna close the distance with jj footwork? lol ronda get's jabbed into submission.

I think the same as you. Unfortunately, most striker vs grappler contests end up in favor of the grappler.
Unless the striker knows how to keep the fight standing.
This isn't 1992 anymore.

no, shes not that good either. she would get taken down easily and submitted

Would Dillashaw beat Werdum if they were the same size? Either way, it's pure fiction.

Why won't Joanna move up and fight Ronda already? Is she scared?!?!

No.

Sprawling against a single/double is nothing remotely like trying to stop a world class Judoka from tossing you on your head.

Olympic Judoka train their entire lives to stop other world class Judoka from tossing them, but it still happens. Training a handful of years in a MMA gym doesn't remotely prepare you for the level of grappling that JJ would face against Rousey.

Toss in that JJ would still have to defend against Rousey's striking (which has legit KO power) and it makes it even more difficult to avoid the take down.

Getting close to clinch with a muay thai champ who has a great jab and great control of distance and finishing power is not the same as closing the distance noob fighters and moms.

The greatest strengths of MT fighters are their ability to kick and clinch fighting.

In what world are those advantages against a world class Judoka?

JJ didn't kick the entire fight against Esparza due to fear of the take down. And JJ would have to be a complete idiot to try to clinch with Rousey as take downs from the clinch position are the bread and butter of Judo.

MT fighters are renowned for a lot of things... maintaining distance and circling isn't one of them.

Now if JJ was a world class Boxer, you might have an argument. Muay thai? That plays right into Rousey's world.
