I think Joanna would tool her on the feet and her takedown defense has proven to be stellar. Still don't know if she could stop that takedown though. What say you sherdog?

I think the same as you. Unfortunately, most striker vs grappler contests end up in favor of the grappler.

I take Ronda via armbar prior to round two.

I think she'd have a much better chance than anyone Rousey had fought so far. She wouldn't be just dispatched easily, that's for sure.

If jo Jed weighed 135 I think she would be a great match up for ronda, she would still be the underdog tho

    No.

Sprawling against a single/double is nothing remotely like trying to stop a world class Judoka from tossing you on your head.

Olympic Judoka train their entire lives to stop other world class Judoka from tossing them, but it still happens. Training a handful of years in a MMA gym doesn't remotely prepare you for the level of grappling that JJ would face against Rousey.

Toss in that JJ would still have to defend against Rousey's striking (which has legit KO power) and it makes it even more difficult to avoid the take down.

Joanna actually looks like a fighter out there which can't be said about any of Rousey's opposition unfortunately.

But yeah, when two people with very little KO power (women and most of the smaller guys) fight, it usually comes down to grappling prowess and she would have a major advantage in that.

Joanna would make her look ugly by constantly tagging that face before getting armbarred in the 2nd.

That's pretty much what I mean. She'd bust Rousey's face up in the very least, that's inevitable in just about any Joanna fight. She seems to rise to the occasion in big fights especially.

Honda would outstrike Yoanna because Yoanna would fear the TD

But Honda would eventually land a TD an submit Yoanna instantly

Nah, Judo takedowns are completely different from wrestling takedowns.. Having good conventional TDD won't do shit against Rousey.. besides Ronda needs to land just one flush shot on JoJed

Ronda would win. Her judo is better than anything Joanna has.

How bout let's allow Joanna to defend the belt for a while before we start putting Her into the conversation with ronda. I get it...JJ is the flavor of the month and a way to hate ronda but goodness

Because you don't know fuck about judo.

You can be an Olympic-caliber Judoka with no subs and little ground game. They get stood up after only a few seconds on the ground to keep it spectator friendly. If your throws and balance are on point you won't need it. Ronda is not like the others in that she spent her life learning to apply an armbar in literally seconds. That's exactly why she does it so well.

    This.

Other top level judoka who enter MMA have little trouble tossing other people on their heads. The problem is that most of them have little to no ground game.

Rousey is somewhat unique in that she not only entered MMA in her prime, but she specialized in an area of Judo (Newaza -- ground fighting) that is uncommon at the international level.

While most every Judoka learns the techniques that Rousey uses on the ground, very few use them competitively and even fewer depended upon their ground games for wins in competitions.

Most world class Judoka are basically world class competitors when it comes to take downs and take down defense, but the equivalent of McDojo black belts when it comes to submissions.

Rousey is a world class competitor at take downs and submissions in Judo terms.

Added to this is Rousey's no-gi application. Her no-gi judo is the best in mma history. Learning to throw without the gi after years of training gi is difficult but Ronda seems to have little trouble hitting the head and arm tie up and tossing bitches left and right.

    JoJed herself? Too small.

Her style of fighting? Quite possibly.

If she has arms,Ronda by ab.

At this point,Ronda could armbar a female T-Rex if it could make 135.

it's really quite simple. all joanna jedzhiugbkbjmxsdf has to do is tell ronda not to kill herself.
