Would Fedor's legacy have been hurt had his first post-Pride losses happened in the UFC instead of Strikeforce?

Fedro fans will say this as though the entire reason Werdum wasn't in the UFC was because JDS sent him to the shadow realm during his own run to the HW title.

No Strikeforce did not have the better HW division at the time. They had aged names and guys who would become names. They're no different than Bellator/PFL.
No, they quite literally had the vast majority of the best HW's of that time.

Ufc had jds, Brock, Mir, Cain.

It could be argued that the UFC had the best heavyweights, but the vast majority were still in strikeforce.

No point that guys just a hater. Strikeforce objectively had the majority of the ranked hws at the time. Like it's not even up for debate.

And you can't even say oh they were ranked but they actually sucked. Since that pool of fighters included future UFC hw champs DC and Werdum, and title contenders Bigfoot and Reem. There was a reason the UFC buying out strikeforce and absorbing their hw division was seen as a big deal at the time. We saw the same thing in lighter weight classes years prior when they absorbed the WEC.

Dan Henderson literally needed rocks in his shorts to even make the 206lb HW minimum for his fight with Fedor.

Which was originally a catchweight 220lb fight until Hendo said "lol there's no way I can make 220lb and it has to be HW so I can even make 206lb" and Coker scrambled to make it a HW fight after Hendo exposed the size difference there.

Which caused Fedor to still do a gentleman's agreement and still actually cut from his usual 235 down to 222lbs once he realized the size difference at play.

Hendo is definitely a small fighter, get the fuck out of here. As guys like Rogan have said countless times though, when you put your arm around him for an interview his muscles are like rock hard wires however. He's small but dense, a tough and grizzled wiry motherfucker like men used to be.
eh, i wouldnt call him small but he definitely wasnt a big LHW by any stretch. wasnt a big MW either.
had ungodly power though. always loved watching him

Indeed

If he had come in when cro cop and nog did, then lost right away, it would have hurt his legacy a bit. But by the point all the pride HWs came over, the top of the heap was getting pretty shopworn. He probably would have grabbed the belt either way and declined by the time the Cain/JDS/Werdum era started

Of course he would have gotten the "cant hang in the UFC" treatment.

In the grand scheme of things it all kind of evened out anyway, since Strikeforces HW division was equal to if not better (it was certainly deeper) than the UFCs at that time. Cain, JDS, Brock, Carwin, Mir or Ubereem, Werdum, Bigfoot, up and coming DC etc - pick your poison.

Sherdog is a sub forum of Fedor Emelianenko discussion.

Fuck yes Hellraiser!

Judgement is actually not a bad film really. The Auditor is a cool character.

Who was the best HWs at the time then?

Next.

Whether the losses came or not, Fedor will still be seen as GOAT.

I do not see how losing in the UFC would have been different from the Strikeforce. The rules were similar and both divisions were strong by the HW standards.

The thing is Werdum was the only true top HW Fedor has lost to. Rogers and Hendo should have played well into Fedor's style.TRT Bigfoot was big and strong but DC and Cain had 0 problems with him. Hendo was smaller and older and had actually shown a more well rounded skill set in their fight.

I wonder if it wasnt for Vitor, if they would have banned it lol

Vitor showed his dr his old photo and told to give him the update
