Would Big Nog have defeated Brock at UFC 100?

in his prime it might be a toss up. Nog had decent hands and good transitions. I think he could catch brock early or weather the storm until brock slowed down and control the fight. Brock could pin him down and pound him though

at that stage of nog's career, probably not. he would have gotten steamrolled.

Big Nog was waaay over the hill at that time. But Hulk Lesnar barely climbed a mole hill in his entire MMA career.
Nogerooni any way he wanted. On the feet Brockster would be break dancing in fear and shame. On the ground, he'd be tapping to a lullaby.

Big Nog was over the hill and obviously peak Brock would have been favored but even that old ass washed up Big Nog would have still had a chance on heart and experience alone- especially if it went past the second round.

honestly, I feel like Big Nog is one of the most overrated fighters ever, that being said his BJJ in MMA is one of the 5 best i have seen, his guard was nasty and almost impossible to pass, it would be a toss up imo, Big Nog was known for getting his ass beat and coming back and subbing people

At UFC 100 Nog wasn't his glorious self. I think at this time he gets taken down and beat up.

A few years prior, I think Nog gets taken down and finds a submission as he did many times whilst looking like losing. I don't personally see any version of Nog easily beating up Lesnar but I do see Nog winning prior to UFC 100.

Yes he would have beaten Brock. He had a great defensive guard and ability to mitigate damage in those positions. He also had the submission threat of his back. Brock was pretty strong so I don't expect Nog to land a sub off his back. But I think he would get through the GNP and after round 3 Brock would gas and Big Nog would finish him. Although Nog wasn't a power puncher, I think the volume would get to Brock and eventually he would go down and get finished.

Brock isn't gonna muscle out of an armbar lol

Let's say Nog would have defeated Mir at UFC 92 and moved on to face Brock at UFC 100. Do you think he would have defeated Brock, or he would have gotten pummeled on the ground?

Big Nog was on the best run of his career and had just won the belt. He would have stomped Brock.

Brock would have killed him at that point of his career. His hips and knees were gone.

A month later Nog has a back and forth FOTY with the even older and more zombie Randy, and then gets badly outclassed in every other fight for the rest of his career except against Schaub and Herman.

And yet there's still people in here thinking he's beating UFC 100 Brock.

Nostalgia is a powerful drug.

Honestly, it would be interesting to see if any of these guys would ever say that same Nog is beating Mir (already known no), Carwin, Cain (again known no), Overeem, or hell even Hunt, all of Brock's other opponents. I suspect they'd mostly say no as they know he's way too shot to win, and are just saying yes here because of the UFC vs Pride angle they can't let go.

Which at least made sense between Brock/Fedor at the time as he was still on top, but makes no sense here when even they call him Zombie Nog.

I swear Nog is one of the most overrated HWs along with Lesnar, Couture, and Cormier. Nog was 1 dimesional, very slow, injury prone due to childhood accident, and a terrible striker he also had poor takedowns and was not a physical specisman.

Nog would likely lose only because by that time Lesnar because pretty much submission proof. The only BJJ guys I would favor over Lesnar is Big Foot and Werdum and both are vastly superior strikers to Lesnar and hard to takedown or out grapple and able to always stand up also more athletic than Nog. And Big Foot would be just as heavy or heavier than Brock. The way to beat Lesnar is if takendown grapple to stand back up as Couture and Cain did. The only person who seemed to out wrestle Brock purely was Carwin and I suppose someone like Blaydes would due to his BJJ background as well.

Again Nog beats early Lesnar but if Frank Mir cannot submit Brock and escape Brocks grappling I do not see how the less athletic Nog would. The BJJ of Nog and Mir is very similar and let us not forget Mir submitted Nog.... People will say it is out of prime Nog but the reality is BJJ skills do not decline with age. Nog did not lose that fight due to his weaker chin.

You think Bigfoot had a better chance than Nog? Are you insane?

Nah. Geriatric Nog might win if Brock stayed in the pocket and threw hands with him but he'd likely get taken down and mauled pretty badly. Dude was so far away from his fighting prime at that point. 9/10 Lesnar.

Post war Nog would’ve gotten pummeled by juiced to the gills neck and eyeballs Bork Lazer, as hard as that is to admit.
