I was Chair Force for 20 years, and when we augmented gate guard duty, we were told to never place ourselves in the path of a vehicle without a secondary barrier being in place. And not to be in the path when the secondary barrier is removed. So don't be standing in front or behind when the arm goes up. And that was the Air Force.... the Air Force.

They're federal agents who have no jurisdiction on traffic violations, especially those unrelated to immigration investigations (unless one had been deputized).

To be perfectly honest I’m a bit on the fence about the shoot from the video and I don’t have the full story, but there is no excuse for barring medical attention to the person they just shot. I'd encourage you to take an hour or so to read through the DHS and DOJ policy manuals on officer conduct, specifically as it relates to this same situation. Let me know if you've come to the same conclusions I have.

The shoot was absolutely terrible, because that officer encouraged the situation to end like that.

But the woman also made completey stupid decisions. Conflicting directions or not, she decided to drive away with an armed officer in the way and that was dumb.
