A slow moving vehicle going AWAY FROM YOU, means your life isn't in danger. She accelerated after she was in her death throws from being shot in the face for no reason.

Sure, but not doing that can lead to even worse situations, where they either let all these guys run around like maniacs because an escape route is so easy, or they make the rules for shooting even more lax. I'd say that if you're dealing with somebody willing to run over a cop, it's probably for the best that they get got. How 'bout people don't try run from police, especially when one is standing in front of your car?

That's their problem. If your life path of getting high and challenging law enforcement to a game of chicken goes south, I don't see a big deal when you find out. They're not psychiatrists, either. Mentally ill people should be in an asylum, if they're that crazy.

In a general safety sense, I guess, but issues will arise with that as well. Some scenarios just aren't perfect, where you can box them in with cars, and if they're willing to murder you to get away, I'd say it's reasonable to expect them to get shot. It's a bit of a test. No different if you have guns pointed at you, and you're stupid enough to reach for yours.

I mean at what point is it the criminal's fault for being retarded? There's already way too many rules of engagement with pieces of shit, who would kill you for a Snickers bar. I'm sorry, but I think it's time people found out that it ain't some game.

You know what is a bigger threat to public safety? A car still in motion that's out of control because the driver just got shot dead. The car could have mounted the pavement and crashed into a group of pedestrians for all the shooter knew.

The videos show the officer crossing in front of the vehicle when she begins reversing. At that point he reaches to draw his firearm. When she accelerates aggressively, he opens fire and sidesteps.

Was it the wrong call? Yes. In hindsight. With video replay.

She didn't have to block off the street. She did.
She didn't have to ignore the lawful orders from law enforcement. She did.
She didn't have to press on the gas with an officer directly in front of the vehicle. She did.

That last bit gave the officer reason to assume his life was threatened, and he used his gun to remove the threat to his life.
