To put it simply, Maia showed her ground game is a lot better than people give her credit for
 
Piera Rodriguez vs. Josefine Knutsson. Rodriguez looked strong especially in wrestling, earning the UD over the undefeated Knutsson.

Miranda Maverick vs. Jamey-Lyn Horth. Hoping to catch that match later on espn+.

Miranda Maverick vs. Jamey-Lyn Horth. Pretty good match up with it tied 1-1 going into the final round. Maverick started round 3 with some good striking that led to a takedown and putting her in position to earn a 29-28 UD. The announcers said Maverick has now won four straight. Horth showed some decent clinch work and wrestling especially in round 2 but eventually was overpowered by Maverick's strength and decision making especially in the critical third round.
 
A pity about Knutsson losing, and the amount of wrestling from Rodriquez. But at least the fight was reasonably fun.

I could not finish 2nd round of the Maverick/Horth, every position in the whole match was some variation of a Couture-lean - even when they were on the ground, it was leaning. Horrible.

Knutsson showed a nice grappling tbh. Even tried a gogoplata haha
She also made the bout competitive on the feet but in the end, Rodriguez' wrestling was too much. I should have done a research about her taking all of her previous opponents down, tbh.

Quite a few probiably should have, i don't usually pay attention to the odds, but Knutsson being quite a favourite bettingwise before the fight started caught my eye once the takedowns started happening.

I'm having such a remorse with that lol

At the beginning of the last week, i've watched sherdog's preview, saying Rodriguez would win due to her wrestling... I ignored.
Then, during the week, while doing random things, i asked an IA about the fight result. It said Rodriguez due to her... wrestling lol

Still... I got stubborn and made myself believe Knutsson would stuff her takedowns...
Finally... I watched the fight and... after the first round (specially when they added those comments about Rodriguez having taken down all her UFC opponents and specially the one saying she broke her previous "takedowns landed" record) i realized i screwed up lol

She didn't show nice grappling to me, she showed a serious lack of wrestling and a few half baked tricks up her sleeve, like the gogoplata.

I mean... When she reversed that mount position into an achilles lock :eek::eek::eek:

yeah never mind failed gogoplatas she should have thrown more leg kicks
then Rodriguez's leg would have been COMPROMISED, this could be it, one more kick and that leg might be DONE
