Signings/Scouting WMMA Discussion #29

not surprised that hardy had trouble with moura, but it looked like whatever plan she had coming in didn't materialise.

I quite liked the araujo/silva fight - namely because I had vivi down as an almost inert counter puncher these days. I really liked how active she was in this fight. On the other hand, silva fading was a surprise to me (and only me it seems). in any case, this fight exceeded my expectations and certainly looked better than the nickal/craig fight that came after it

Hardy's corner made a mistake after two rounds by not telling her she needs a finish. Moura made easy work of her and even scored a few takedowns. Looks like she has found the right weight class.

Yeah Araujo / Silva was a fun fight. Also surprised that Silva kinda gassed. Well-deserved victory for Araujo.

Waiting for a more familiar source to confirm:

She should be Aging Panda now seems like she went from up and comer to end of career fast. Makes sense I guess she's a suitable replacement for GDR retiring for Jaqueline to progress up the rankings and add a little excitement to the division.

Jas should have the strength and gas to take out mbs in r2 or 3.

Jessica Penne says the whole “blood passport” thing was BS. She reported what she was taking as having been recommended by a doctor:

If true, so glad USADA is gone from UFC; they were full of shit on so many things

ufc this week:

- Xiaocan Feng vs. Ming Shi - no idea, but i promise to care aftwards if it's good
- Cong Wang vs. Gabriella Fernandes - fernandes' all-offense striking is entertaining, but i don't think she has anything for a woodchipper like wang. wang KO/TKO
- Xiaonan Yan vs. Tabatha Ricci - hard to tell. ricci's new found high pressure style of volume striking and cage squashing was super effective against angie. old style yan would have kept her distance and trotted away until darting in for a combo and out again. can ricci squash yan against the cage for 3 rounds? we did just see yan struggle against D1 weili earlier this year so i'm inclined to think so. ricci UD

They always have been. Science being overseen by a bunch of lawyers with no scientific education is a recipe for disaster. It does not help that Tygart was born a corrupt piece of shit and has only gotten worse.

Ming Shi (115.5) vs. Xiaocan Feng (115) Feng via youth and aggression to DEC.
Cong Wang (126) vs. Gabriella Fernandes (126) Fernandes via experience to DEC.
Xiaonan Yan (116) vs. Tabatha Ricci (115.5) My head says Yan via superior striking to DEC but something also says Ricci via superior weigh in performance. Because, damn.

Feng Xiaocan over Shiming. Shiming has been an underdog throughout the tournament, and she’s rightfully one here. Looking at the face off, they look two classes apart. Feng is big for strawweight, and Shiming has fought at atomweight before. Still cheering for Shiming

Wang over Fernandes. I noticed that Fernandes never moves her head off the center line. Not a positive attribute in the fight game, and worse against an aggressive striker like Wang.

Yan. I think (and hope and pray) that Ricci walling and stalling her way to decisions she doesn’t deserve come to an end against the heavier hitting YangI don’t believe that Ricci has the takedowns to get Yang into the place where she has the best advantage to use her BJJ.
