Winter sucks.

Got all the way to January without snow this year, well here it is. Usually takes me 30 minutes to get to work. Gave myself about an hour and a half since I've been late all week.

Been driving an hour and a half and maps says I got two hours to go FML. Nobody here can drive in any kind of weather. The sheer number of accidents and crashed cars I see daily is insane
Definitely the worst part of winter for me. I had a 45 minute commute to work at one point and was driving a shitty Civic down the slick ice highway that had a wheel out of alignment.

I leave an hour earlier than usual and get there 5 minutes late after almost dying 5 times and my 'boss' says:

You're late!' I'm like 'did you see the weather outside?' He responded 'I check the weather forecast.'

So many deuchbags at that company.

I dont mind the cold as long as it isnt windy, and I dont mind snow if it isnt a slushy mess or sleet that I mightt bust my ass on. I'm too old to fall down now. I dont like it when it is cold in my fucking HOUSE though its still more tolerable than it being humid with no AC

5 mph tops for 40 miles I'm gonna go insane lol. Just passed a Subaru in the ditch. How the fuck do you drive off the road going 5mph ffs

We had snow in October, then it pissed off 'til now. But now it's also -45 and expected to get colder. It's so funny, if anybody asks to borrow/buy a space heater from people on Facebook, everyone is just, "we're running our stove with its door open. you should do the same". My computer room is currently an ice box so I have my feet rested on the electric heater. Useless to do anything other than roast my piggies~

Yeah, winter sucks. Looking at a foot of snow(on top of the foot we got a few days ago), and sub-zero highs, over the weekend.

I don't mind it since I retired. I don't have to be anywhere. I lowed snow for many years. The first snow of the year was always fun as people forget how to drive on slippery roads. The Southern part of Wisconsin got some snow but there is barely a dusting where I live farther North. The airport near me reported 2 inches but there wasn't enough to cover the grass at my house. There is another storm forecast starting tomorrow into Saturday but it might stay South of us again. It has also been relatively warm here with daytime highs around 30 and night around 25. It's supposed to turn colder this weekend with highs under 10.

Left at 5:30 and just got here at 10:15

I’m in the annoying area where it snowed recently now having to deal with the icy melted remains.

They do but it's not convenient. Fortunately I've had a car since I moved out here so I haven't had to worry about that. Problem is you have to use the freeway to get to many places. When there's a crash which there is basically every day that there's weather, it adds hours to your commute and there's really no way around it.
No surface street routes?

I like snow, until it screws with my commute.

Not much snow here, though the Thames burst it's banks along my running route a few days ago...

Going for a run to the gym before work this morning, so I'm curious to see what it's like, as homeowners along the bank must have shit themselves a few days prior...

Just showing up and working hard seems to be good enough so far. TBH with you I was at a low point when I got this job.

Had really given up on myself and only applied so I could tell myself I was doing SOMETHING. Felt like I just knew it wouldn't work out.

But just getting real paychecks again has helped a lot. When you have resources you can make plans

Bro, just take a sleeping bag and spare clothes into work with you next time. Sleep in the office, wash in the bathroom and eat in the canteen until the worst of the snow has passed. Think of all the money and time you'll save not commuting.

You're welcome!:p

I love the winter. Everything quiets down. Was out tearing around in the 4x4 during the snow the other night/day. Had a blast.
