Marginalization of #BLM is absolutely the first step we need towards mitigating police vs. civilian violence (and vice versa)

Maybe I wouldn't call them terrorists at this point, but they are definitely radical.

They preach and exercise violence.

They're douches to be sure. The thing is like I've been saying, there's a difference between people that consider themselves to be affiliated with a group committing violent acts on their own, and the group itself being responsible for it.


If it comes out that there was planning between "leadership" of BLM and the gunmen then yeah, that's terrorism.


When a guy shoots someone at an abortion clinic and says it's because he's christian, we don't say christians are a terrorist group. Terrorists are a group like Isis where they have a clear leadership structure, and plan acts of violence as an organized group. They even take responsibility for them.


Do we have proof that rank and file people protesting or throwing out hashtags on twitter were in on this ? For all we know the shooters were acting alone.

However if actual evidence comes out then sure. The problem is with a group like say Isis if a dude just tweets he's Isis that doesn't just make him a member. Much of this group is just people running their mouth on twitter that don't actually do anything, even the people protesting are the minority.


It's a stretch to say both of those groups of people are terrorists without any evidence.

Yes because throwing rocks and molotov cocktails at police, shooting up departments, dropping cinderblocks on peoples heads, and inspiring people who kill and wound 12 officers isn't REAL terrorism. BTW how many people called the planned parenthood shooter a terrorist?

This is a good example for you to see how dumb it is to call BLM terrorists. The planned parenthood shooter was a terrorist. The Dallas shooter was a terrorist. Being anti abortion does not make you a terrorist. Being part of BLM doesnt make you a terrorist.

Fundamentally I have an issue with the way BLM gets their message out, but I dont really see them as a hate group. They are addressing a real issue, and have addressed the fact that they don't want violence.

Trump supporters have assaulted others from expressing a different viewpoint. Can i now condemn all Trump supporters as violent?

In any sufficiently large group there will always be assholes who act contrary to the groups morals and ethics.

That IS sort of the problem. If someone else that says they're a democrat or says they're a christian murders someone, does that make those terrorist groups? How about when a cop uses excessive force, are all cops terrorists now?

Most people would say no. This is part of a broader issue of separating the behavior of individuals from that of groups.

I suppose I must accept that as a concession on the matter since there's nothing contradicting my assertion, here.
