Is Vettori's wrestling better than that of Cutelaba, Hermansson, Brunson etc... Tho? I felt like Vettori would try to wrestle more but didn't think he would have a ton of success with it.
I don't think it's one of those hindsight cases. Seems more like people don't know Cannonier's game. Cannonier is unwrestleable at MW and a much better striker than Vet.
Bo Nickal is top 40 and would ragdoll him, there just aren't many good wrestlers at 185
Maybe he would but that's the caliber of wrestler it takes. His ranking is irrelevant since he just entered the league. Guys like Vet, Brunson and Hermansson clearly don't have enough to control Cannonier.

Brunson is the only wrestler and he has awful mma wrestling. Awful amateur wrestling as well. He has credentials but I'd be shocked if he didn't get destroyed by college freshman at any D1 or D2 program in the country at this point. He leads with his head forward and down like a highschool freshmen. I knew Izzy would starch him when they fought on Israel's run to the title. He's so hittable, and honestly I don't know how he could take you down with that technique. I'd be embarrassed if Brunson took me down. According to Wikipedia bio(take it for what it's worth) he had wrestling and cheerleading scholarships. He should have gone with Cheerleading. He went to UNC Pembroke. Never heard of it, but says he's a D2 3x all-American which is impressive. He clearly lost those skills though. He's not a good wrestler.
I was picking Cannonier, but the answer to yourbquestion is that Vettori had multiple ways to victory. I expected him to lay and pray his way to victory, but instead we gor a real spectacle where he was more than happy to stand and bang.
That is an unnecessary insult to just bleed fans.
