I'm very interested in how other countries are viewing the states right now.

When Americans get riled up it's usually vehicle vandalism. Americans target Canadian license plates, particularly near the border in my experience. I travel to the states a lot because there's a lot more to do.

A lot of people in a variety of different fields are looking at America as unreliable at this point. The rhetoric about making Canada part of the USA has kind of rallied people against America. We are team Trudeau at this moment, and that makes a lot of people gag (me included, hate the guy).

Theres a MASSIVE push right now to avoid buying American. I've never seen anything like it. The American products in my grocery store today are pushed to the back and clearly labeled American product (so we can avoid it).

I have learned something about being president from Trump. I've learned that the president has a major responsibility to strengthen, build, and deepen our ties to our allies and friends around the world. Its too bad and Trump is such a destructive person.

That's easy, agreeing with it reduces cognitive dissonance. When you declare your support for X, but you end up in a situation where your support for X is showing to be misguided or possibly incorrect altogether, it's psychologically easier and less painful to double-down than to reevaluate. It's not like a particular "side" is immune to that either. That's why you have to be careful about what you say and what you support, everyone is always in danger of subconsciously mind-gaming themselves into a terrible decision. there is an obvious short term benefit, as far as state-operated cash flow. beyond that, he is only pushing the US to become completely self-sufficient, something we haven't had a modicum of infrastructure for in 80 years. him ruining trade relations with western allies will only open the door for china to come in and provide everything, reaping all the financial benefits.

i don't udnerstand why things can't be implemented in well thought out and measured ways. The biggest mistakes are made when people are rushing decisions or trying to show how important they are at the start of their new job by making "major paradign shifts" without understanding the underlying reasons for the current way the business functions.

In business what many of these people are doing is called being a "Seagull Leader" meaning one that flies in, makes a lot of noise, shits all over things, and leaves quickly with things in much worse shape than before they arrived.

I didn't want Trump to win but I certainly don't want him to fail now that he has the reins in his hands.
