It's as simple as people like to complain. If they didn't have anything to bitch about, they would bitch about not having anything to bitch about.

When the UFC couldn't come to a deal with Holm, many fans complained, saying that they were ducking Holm. Many said that Cyborg and Holm were the only real fights left for Rousey.

When it looked like Tate was getting a third fight with Rousey, many fans complained, even suggesting they should give it to somebody else instead.

When they found out Tate wasn't getting the shot, many fans complained that Tate had earned it and should have been given the opportunity again.

When they found out that Holm, "one of the only fights left for Ronda", got the shot, many complained that she didn't deserve the shot.

They could give Ronda a top ranked fighter, and many fans would complain because she has already beat all of the top ranked fighters, and they should have found somebody new. If they gave her a new opponent a little lower on the rankings, many would complain that they didn't deserve it and that it should have went to a high ranked contender.

If you give Rousey a fight, people will complain that it's pointless because it will be over in 30 seconds. If you don't give her a fight, people will complain because she isn't active enough.

They say you can't please all of the people all of the time. But I'm not sure you can please MMA fans any of the time.

Actually, her stand up is great. Her footwork, distancing, legs kicks, punches are text book etc etc.

The problem is, and why she's been underwhelming, is that she seems tentative. Like she's tooooo scared of the take down or the possible knee to the face, and too patient.

If she had the Chris Cyborg aggression shed be destroying these girls. But she doesn't, so you're going to get underwhelming performances.

The interesting thing is, her patience and footwork might actually work for her against Ronda. Might. Just might.

Whereas Cyborg will probably get aggressive, too close, and pow! Grab, toss, arm-bar. Just probably.

her punches might be nice but she doesnt really hit her opponents with them. not sure how that works when your main background is boxing...

love this girl...now there's a woman that can strike and has killer instinct. Holm should be able to punch (shes one of the all time female boxers, right?) but its almost as if she doesnt want to actually touch her opponents with her fists.

trying to outpoint Ronda over 5 rounds is a bad gameplan, if thats what she and Jackson/Winklejohn are going for.

I dont think you have a understanding of what good striking is. She has fantastic well rounded striking both on offense and defense and great footwork/movement on top of that. I can't fathom how anyone can not see that.

in the three fights ive seen of hers, she doesnt really land punches. not sure how that can be considered well rounded when probably 70% or more of her strikes landed are kicks.
