There was a thread earlier bumped that said the UFC is afraid to sign Holly Holm because she'll tool Ronda on the feet - http://forums.sherdog.com/forums/f2/why-cyborg-holly-holm-not-ufc-real-reasons-2713249/

Now people are up in arms that Holly is getting a title shot?

    What's with the Fake Outrage?

    - Ronda has beaten 6 out of the 9 remaining Top 10 fighters. The only other two are Nunes and Eye. Nunes got MURKED by Zingano and Eye just got beat by Tate. So Holly makes the most sense.

    - Holly started training MMA before Ronda

    - Holly is undefeated in MMA just like Ronda

    - Holly is a far more decorated fighter in combat sports than Ronda is:

Well done, Holly! You certainly shuts all the hating Shertards up tonight!

Holm "didn't deserve" the title shot against Rousey the same way Rousey "didn't deserve" the title shot against Tate.

    Yes, it is.

Not surprise that the Holly haters who fake-outraged about this fight are now making threads celebrating it as the best ever.

Let's not pretend Holly Holm has a good chance of winning. She doesn't. Stylistically, Ronda is not a good match-up for her.

That being said, the fans would be outraged if Holly Holm vs Ronda never happened, if one of them retired before they could meet. And since Holly is 34 years old soon and has been fighting as a pro for 13 years, it's likely she's going to retire even before Ronda does. And Ronda won't be around forever anyway.

If Holly Holm fights someone like Miesha Tate to get the title shot and loses, it basically means she will never get a title shot before she retires.

It's now or never. Fans should deal with it.

UFC tried signing Cyborg (when Tito was her manager), and they made Holm vs. Rousey. So I don't see the problem.

why does the ufc do rankings like they want to be treated like a real sport when the rankings don't mean anything?

Holly was hyped big time but hasn't really impressed a great deal in her fights. It's almost as if people change their minds after they've been presented with evidence that contradicts their previous views.

I don't care about her women's thaiboxing and boxing accomplishements, Holm's striking sucks, anyone with a brain and a pair of eyes knows this.

She's getting a title shot over Tate and Nunes after beating 2 fighters that weren't even in the top 10, not that hard to figure out but good job copy/pasting Holms Wiki page

If the people that are outraged are anything like me, then their outrage is probably centered on simply having to watch Holm fight(anybody) at all.

I'm fine with her being led to the slaughter, but it was extremely shitty of the UFC to announce to the world that Tate earned the shot....confirm it....then announce later they changed their minds(and I thought the Tate re-rematch was fucking comical to begin with).

Why not have Holm fight Miesha first? You know why not? Because Miesha would crush Holm.

All about milking that cash cow.

I don't object to the UFC deciding to give Holm the next shot. As lackluster as she has been in the UFC, there aren't any competitive opponents for Rousey.

The only problem is that Dana/the UFC had already stated that Miesha was getting the next title shot. I like Miesha and that's pretty shitty to pull a switch-a-roo like this out of nowhere. Even though Miesha lost twice, I think she'd be more competitive and entertaining than Holm.

Perhaps Meisha will fight her after? Why is everyone so impatient. Ronda isn't retiring after Holms. Even if she lost you know she would get an immediate rematch. If Ronda lost focus for a second she could get rocked. Could be interesting. Plus Meisha gets more time to be ready for Ronda.

That Miesha lost twice doesn't even matter to me, maybe. Both Miesha AND Holm don't stand a chance. Holm even less. We know Miesha is gonna lose, but Holm probably would just lose even faster because she's just not as good as Miesha. Not just that, but everyone in the WMMA division would go 0-2 if they'd fought Rousey twice. And Miesha's willingness to step in and train for this fight shows that she can't really do worse, and she has experience with Rousey, so maybe she can make it competitive atleast. I thought the second fight was competitive anyways till some point. And Miesha is simply the best of the division after Rousey. So I dunno.

I don't think Holly Holm is ready whatsoever. She is supposedly a "great" boxer, yet Pennington and Marion stood with her with ease. I haven't seen anything impressive from her. She's not ready!!
