Why Ronda v. Cyborg CANNOT Happen at a Catchweight

Ok She'll fight Gina at 145, but she won't fight Cyborg at 140, hell she says she can beat up Cain, but she can't/won't do 140, ok makes sense

I guess gsp and jon jones weren't real champions then. Such a silly argument. You don't have to fight outside your natural weightclass to be a "real champion". Cleaning out your own division is more than enough.

That divison is relatively new, not to mention the competition isn't deep. More importantly that's the superfight everyone wants to see. Hmm would the fans want to see Rousey/Tate 3 or Rousey/Cyborg, think you know that answer

And neither does Ronda, she only talks about Cyborg when she asked about her during interviews

It is kinda of funny how often Rousey brings up Merryfeather unprompted but never seems to mention the elephant in the room known as Cris Cyborg.

The real issue with the fight is, what the fuck do they do with Cyborg after?
There's no division for her to compete in. What if she wins, do they release her? Do they pay a bunch if 135ers to move up and create a division?
Either way, it'd leave 135 with a champion with a non-title loss.

Anything other than cyborg actually making the weight doesn't make any sense.

Shertards will never understand this

So much hyperbole.

Jones and GSP didn't go out of there way to call someone at a higher weight class a coward and drug abuser. And they didn't have the backing of the CEO calling said person a coward.

Jones said he would fight Velasquez all the UFC had to do was show him the money.
GSP never called out Silva or any 185er.

Ok and? Ronda doesn't like Cyborg, because she is a steroid cheat. That's confirmed at this point, not a rumor anymore. She's on record saying that as the champion she sees no reason to go up in weight to accommodate a known ped user. Like it or not, that was her reasoning.

And unlike the other examples people keep bringing up ( most of those fights never happened either btw), these aren't champions of equal standing making it a true superfight and money fight.
Cyborg is the Invicta champion, a champ most people have never heard of in an org most people have never heard of. We couldn't get gsp vs Andy or andy vs bones, and everyone involved there was a huge star in mma.

Cyborg fans don't seem to grasp that outside of the hardcores, Cyborg is a nobody. Her fights generate next to no media interest or hype, and nobody knows who she is. If gsp or andy or jones didn't want to take a potentially dangerous superfight that truly WOULD be a big money fight due to risk, why on earth would Ronda take a potentially dangerous fight outside of her natural weight class that has next to no upside for her? She ALREADY makes millions a fight, why jeapordize that to fight some no name from invicta? So that no names fans will stop bashing her? Lolz ok.

Oh ok, so we are doing this now?

First its "Why is Ronda talking so much trash about someone she is too scarred to fight".. now its "why doesn't she talk about Cyborg, she is scarred"

You guys seriously need to drop this shit and stop pretending like you have a logical argument

Option a) Ronda talks too much about Cyborg
Option b) Ronda doesn't mention Cyborg

Pick one and we'll go from there

Potential non-title loss is not factored into the equation.

Anderson fought non title fights 3 times against LHWs.

It doesn't matter what the UFC wants to do with Cyborg or if Cyborg wants to stay with the UFC.

What matters is that Dana and Rousey have both stated that Cyborg/Rousey ppv would do over 2 million buys.

If they truly believe that than book it at 140 and not an ounce less. Otherwise it is not happening.

We can speculate on whether Cris can make 135, lose muscle or become anorexic. The fact remains that she is not going to willing or physically make 135.

Oh look another idiot who has no idea wtf he is talking about

a) Olympic Judo has same day weigh ins, so apologize for using that as an argument
b) Cyborg started her career at 135, then decided to use roids
c) Cyborg is not in UFC, champs that fight in super fights are fighting someone who fights in a division that exists, so UFC can benefit from either outcome.. and so far BJ Penn is the only one who has done that.. I guess GSP, Anderson, JJ are all scarred too right?
d) Ronda offered Cyborg the fight on 3 separate occasions, the only one running is Cyborg
e) Cyborg has never beaten anyone in top 5, her best win is Coenen, whos is worse than Miesha Tate.. Cyborgs division is far worse than Rondas. At least Rondas opponents actually have winning records

Cry more

*slow clap*

This is where you guys get it wrong. No, this isn't a fight everyone wants to see. It's a fight Cyborg and her fanbase wants. Casuals don't even know who Cyborg is. And lol at level of competition criticisms. You are aware Cyborg mostly crushes cans right?

You guys act like this fight would make Ronda much more money than usual, but it would not. It wouldn't even be a title defense, and would be riskier than a standard fight. You know those 30 second long fights she already makes millions for? Cyborg is the one that would be getting a bigger payday than usual, not Ronda. It's one thing to say you think she should take it because you want every fighter to be like BJ or Fedor, but let's stop with the superfight nonsense.

Cyborg is unknown outside of hardcore fans, so no, this wouldn't make Ronda a lot more money than usual. And she doesn't give two fucks what fans think, so she won't do it just to impress you. That's not even getting into how there is absolutely no upside for the ufc if Cyborg comes in, beats their champ in a non title fight, and then leaves. No upside for the ufc in that scenario whatsoever. Remember, they value money first.

Ok buddy.

Anderson fought people already in the organization. In existing weight classes.
This'd be like they bring in a shw for one fight to fight Werdum and have jack shit for the fighter to do later. That's bad business.

And I can't believe they actually believe that about PPV sales. Cris is only huge on sherdog, most people don't know that she exists.

Oh you're right, like Bethe was so well known and a huge draw.

Fucking lol man. I don't care what anyone said, any rational human knows there is no way that fight does 2 million buys. Oh yeah dana said, ok . Must be a fact then . . You guys just absurdly overvalue Cyborgs name value and drawing power. If anyone at the ufc really thought that fight would do 2 million buys, they would back up trucks full of money in front of Rondas house until she said yes.

Yes andy fought outside of mw, against complete softballs. Much like Rousey did earlier in her career and offered again to do with Carano. Big whoop. Andy's big claim to fame fighting at lhw was beating Griffin, who was stylistically the easiest opponent possible. And andy was STILL unusual in that regard, as most champs in the ufc want nothing to do with fighting above their natural weight class.

I don't care if Rousey and Cyborg don't like each other. Who cares?

Cyborg is champion as well and at a weight that is not in the UFC. So there can be no counter to the UFC having the best 145ers.

Cyborg has done banned substances and so did Belfort, Lesnar (popped in WWE), Shields, Bonnar, Sonnen, etc. and all have received high profile fights against big name stars.

Your perception that Cyborg is not a "big star" is irrevalant. Dana stated that Rousey/Cyborg does 2.5 million buys. He didn't mention legacy or that Rousey already makes a ton of money.

And by the way Jones said he would fight at HW, likely Velasquez, for the right price. GSP had completely different reasoning for not wanting to fight Silva.

I have never said that Rousey or Cyborg are afraid of anyone, much less each other.

After rehydrating, even if Cyborg weighed in at 140, her weight is gonna go up by quite a lot.

I don't value Cyborg or Rousey monetarily at all. This is what the president of the UFC says. And half of what Dana says is a contradiction.

But the fact remains is that he said it, and if he believes it then book the fight.

And dude don't demean anyone who steps into the Octagon by saying that any fight is easy. I don't care much for Forest but saying that he is an easy win is disrespectful.

Because the women's 135 division is so stacked right? And Rhonda's competition thus far has been equal or greater than what GSP and Jones have faced right?

Right.

Supposedly the reason why he looked bad against Silva, was that he had gotten KO'd pretty bad during his camp, at least that's what Rogan said.
