Why isn't kickboxing more popular?

It saddens me that people use this forum only for the UFC / MMA sections and never venture in the Kickboxing / Muay Thai section. This video has been around or so long and seen many times, and there are a lot better fights out there in the archives.

links or it didn't happen :p

Yeah, don't be fooled by the clickbait title. That's equivalent to saying 'Fedor vs. Mark Hunt is awesome and historic'
Not even top 5 'not really competitive, but I guess you can find it fun if you get a kick out of seeing incomplete fighters get their flaws exposed' type of fight.

GOAT: Samkor vs. Kobayashi (middle kicks)

Buakaw vs. Kohiruimaki (clinch)

Masato vs. Vince Phillips (low kicks)

Bernardo vs Hug (Boxing

Holzken vs. Daniels (general kickboxing skill)

I don't care about either I just prefer to post in UFC because their is more people more people equals more different personalities some are funny and that is sometimes needed in a sport that sometimes takes itself too serious

And it sucks cuz I didn't want to post in kickboxing anyway and ya come out of nowhere calling me inbred for asking a kickboxing question if you are so called kickboxing fans why not answer the post instead of belittling people?

Fair point. Frankly its because every single one of us here has probably answered some variation of this question 5x times in here in the past and it gets tiring to explain the same few points, i.e.

- Gap between kickboxing and MMA is not nearly as big as American MMA fans perceive it to be (especially historically; 10 years ago MMA was a fraction of what K-1 was)
- The competitive scene is highly fragmented with no clear market leader like the UFC to build out the sport (besides regional leaders like Kunlun/WLF and K-1 Japan)
- Fallout of K-1 mismanagement has soured the market and talent pool

Frankly these are nuanced points that I don't particularly care to explain while 3/4 of the guys in F2 (most of whom have never seen a kickboxing event), belittle our sport and call it second rate.

Im not on here that much to know that also if you don't wanna reply your fine I'm fine with the number responses I got some people made some great points I get the point now

Im sure the inbreds in question were the people responding to your question. FYI, this question gets asked pretty much on a weekly basis thats why nobody is chomping at the bit to provide a well thought out response in here.[/QUOTE

I actually didn't know this question gets asked a lot and I actually got some good replies i get the point now

honestly thought all these fights were shit lal even zambo vs chahid is just messy brawling.

Feel free to show us your favourite fights then. lal.

well it's kinda lame with these huge Hayabusa gloves to be honest. If they used something like twins gloves it would be better.
Agreed, but anything bigger than 5oz is considered a giant glove to an MMA fan...

One thing I like about Thai fight is their Kard Chuek fights. I would love to see
more kickboxing fights with mma gloves. Just bleed for life.

I think the gloves are supposed to protect the hands, not the face.
