Why is the UFC so stingy with performance bonuses?

I’m sure those guys got compensated outside of their fight purse for their performances, you just won’t hear about it.

Dana throwing 50k on a hand Black Jack is literally HIS OWN MONEY from his personal bank account, not the UFC’s as Businesses payouts.

People’s hate obsession with Dana period and what he does with his money is the weirdest fucking thing in all my years on this site.

Blame the fighters on UFC 304.
Yet, these same Reddit bums spend $20/month on OF subscriptions while not paying their gram basement rent but cry about what successful business owners spend their personal money on.

I only come onto Sherdog for the pure humor it provides.

Why do you say this when it is obviously and verifiably false?

Last night, Jacoby and Johnson both got performance of the night. At UFC 299, every single finish received performance of the night.

And there have even been times where more than one fight has received fight of the night. Will edit if I remember which card it was
Hmm I didn't know that.

Well that makes no sense. Now the name of the award is meaningless.

Like when Tito called Babalu one of the greatest fighters of the night

When did they start doing it? I did stop watching for a few years
They used to only have Knockout of the Night and then Submission of the Night. And even when they did that, there would still occasionally be multiple people winning the same award

Then they changed it to Performance of the Night for both submissions and decisions, and they've had multiple people win that since the first time they did it at UFC Fight Night 36

Of HiS oWn MoNeY

Bunch of boot licking shills

Without the fighters, dude has no product to sell. He could take a massive pay cut and still be insanely rich, and giving the fighters better quality pay would allow them to maximize their training and put on better performances/be better athletes to create a stronger product that likely sells better

Yall so fucking goofy I swear

Dont forget the normalized scam that is show and win purse, a few names dont have it but most of MMA operates that way.

It is, he can do whatever he wants with it, just like you can do whatever you want with your earnings. So why does it bother you? it shouldn’t even be a concern to you. You’re so pathetic you think me saying he can do whatever he wants with his money equals to “Boot Licking Shills.”

It’s a working relationship, without the fighters The UFC wouldn’t be where it is today and without The UFC the fighters wouldn’t have a place, that is reliable for them to make a living. With OneFC being more scummy than The UFC and Scott Coker has literally made more fighters and employees jobless than Dana ever has. Lol. How do you know Dana hasn’t already taken a pay cut? At this point everyone knows Hunter Campbell is the one really running things, Dana is just the headpeace.

“Giving the fighters quality pay would allow them to maximize their training”.while I do believe that to a certain extent, higher pay would equal more fighters being broke, most of them won’t be using their money for training, they’ll be buying mansions, jewelry, cars, etc. Most MMA fighters are horrible with their money to begin with, the only positive thing with higher pay would be the ability to train full time, but I guarantee you fighters will slack off like some are today. Fighters pay their trainers , so they essentially dictate the amount of time snd effort they put into training unlike the other major sports the owners pay the trainer & pay the athletes to train so they can perform at there best, so the athletes are held accountable, you miss a practice, miss a team meeting, miss weight(NFL players weigh in also and if their weight is off they get fined) they can get rid of you just like that and these franchises has the best facilities, nutritionist, recover centers. In the end MMA fighters will be responsible for their own training to maximize it with the money they’re paid. While you got guys out in the mountains of Dagestan wrestling in a fucking bathtub with primitive training and still dominating the best fighters who essentially has the money to maximize their training. You either have it or you don’t.

Despite people bragging about record revenues (which means nothing without factoring EBITDA), Dana has repeatedly claimed that UFC cannot afford increased bonuses. "We raised the bonuses and no one fought any harder! Blame them," and "We're not that rich!"

If you have to get rid of bonuses. Fighting for a bonus does not always equate with fighting for a win.
