Why is Snoop Dogg famous?

Pun intended?

If you are young enough to not know who Snoop Dogg is then it's past your bed time.

Make like a tree and get outta here.

Because Dr. Dre was a phenomenal producer of 90's rap and Snoop rode in on his coat tails. Not to disrespect Snoop because he's my boy and I'd gladly smoke a blunt with him, but he's not a good fit for MMA commentary. It's like when Dennis Miller tried to do football.

Snoop helped Dre almost as much as Dre helped Snoop. Snoop wrote a lot of lyrics for him and helped to give him street cred.

He’s unfadeable, so please don’t try to fade him.

I mean, honestly, I am old enough to know about this guy since the 90s. Never knew why he became famous. I listened to some of his songs and just didn't see anything in them.
He smokes weed. A lot of it. And that seems to be the reason why people think he is "cool" or whatever.
I don't feel that really. Ain't cool to do drugs, glorify drugs and suggest to young kids that weed is cool.
I listened to bits and pieces of his fight commentary and he seems to know nothing about that really. So - why is he on my screen sitting next to Faber? Faber can fight. Trained hard, I got no problem listening to his commentary cause I know he is a specialist when it comes to MMA. But if smoking weed and smoking your last brain cells out is your expertise, then I am not interested about your commentary, Snoop Dogg.

Why is Snoop famous? He was one of the best West Coast rappers in the 90s and made a successful transition to TV and movies.

Because he's only 60 lbs when wet and wearing boots
I've never seen him as a bad guy. There was that movie he did with Tyrese where he was supposed to be the bad guy, he looked like a cancer patient.

He's a gimmick created by a team of marketers.
