i dont think you guys know what "sport" means, or why they were originally created.
i respect proffesional dart players, oprah singers, jet pilots....but i dont call any of those things a sport. the only reason golf is called a sport, is because its played with a ball and a stick.

Not on the level of an elite athlete and not even close,theirs a gym full of people who are much better athletes and they work full time on top of that.

Well, when he partakes in sports then I'll be fine with him bing called an athlete.
Otherwise its insulting to actual athletes taking risks in sports.

i dont thnk spelling bees, scrabble, and some other crap they show on there should be. Golf isnt spelling though. It takes incredible dexterity, concentration, hand-eye coordination, skill

Yeah, alot of you guys are coming off as elitest assholes in here.
Most of you are approaching this "golf isn't a sport" are doing it the way MMA fans approach "boxing isn't real fighting". That is, with a huge level of disrespect and immaturity.
Whether or not golf is or isn't a sport, it's something that's incredibly hard to master - anyone who says otherwise has either never played it or is playing devil's advocate - and the people who play it and are good at it are worthy of all the respect they get.
