Fighters need to learn to embrace the power of the Qi. I recommend watching the whole video but I time stamped a part of the video where with 2 years of training one's skull can become 4 times harder. Overeem would be unstoppable with this sort of training.

because mma fighters have been focusing more on jiujitsu so they won't get submitted by 115lb girls.

I'm sure the skull gets stronger, but the brain doesn't. You're still shocking your brain with impact. Bad idea.

But does it prevent a 115 lb girl from submitting you?

Why don't you incorporate shaolin monk's aversion to shitposting into your training routine?

This is VERY scientific, while also being fun at the same time!

When can I start?

Because monks can totally fight.
Super conditioned, dexterious, and flexible I’ll give them that

Because Shaolin traneing, granddaddy of the Judo chop is too deadly for the cage.

UFC/MMA is sport orientated and TMA techniques are by design illegal or could cause severe injury or death.

The fighting sport bodies or S.M.E's see that all techniques go through serious review and analysis from a "Medical and Insurance" perspective for clearance to use.

UFC have banned quite allot of true martial skill and it is a SPORT like it or not!

I have said this countless times on this Forum, but people harp on about sparring there are some techniques you cannot use in a sparring match.

Although, a true martial artist is put to the test in many ways to show competency, sparring is one of them without the use of certain techniques this is a grey area for S.M.E's.

Some people here just don't understand until they actually do and complete a TMA and see it for what it really is.

To tell me or the public you did Kung Fu for two years means diddly squat, nuda, zilch its only when we talk of completion at full rank in a young, fast, strong practitioner you see the real skills.

You see the real abilities after the vigorous conditioning and training not many undertake by the way here who talk about fighting and sparring as they are to accustomed to gloves and padding.

TMA's do not translate into MMA rule set by design they are two different applications.

TMA is a different breed of what is a Martial Arts Practitioner!

FACT!

Like it or not!

I just don't think it's time effective. Why focus training on an outdated and less effective style when you can train boxing, bjj, muay thai, etc....

If somebody says: "hey you have 6 months to start training and prepare for a fight" i'm going to pick the most useful styles out there. If I spent 3 months training in shaolin monk style, i've essentially wasted those 3 months.

This is no disrespect to their tradition. But in terms of mma...not buying it.

Yeah since skull hardness was the limiting factor in taking damage! You know, since most KO/TKO are due to skull fractures.

It's nonsense. If your art relies on things like eye pokes or ball kicks to be effective and you fought an MMA fighter in 'real combat' you would lose. What is an eye poke except a jab with the fingers extended? Who is going to be better at it - the guy that's trained the jab for years, learning the distance management, footwork, accuracy, speed, not telegraphing with live sparring against a resisting opponent, or the guy that's been eye poking air for years since his techniques are 'too deadly' to spar with?

Same goes for almost all techniques banned under MMA rules. I'll trust the guy that routinely trains elbows with aliveness to use a good 12-6 elbow over someone doing kata that can't spar their deadly techniques.

Oh dear me, are you implying I have no commonsense, why? do you really think i am stupid and was born yesterday.

If a lucky punch connects to a jawline and sparks out after hyper-extension its lights out, we all know that!

However TMA or in modern terms military application martial art training would mean a complete different approach to a fight and intent and application of techniques and that includes the fact that its a hard thing to do not some sparring or UFC match but hard survival tactics or die on the battlefield.

Hard to explain online but you got to respect the difference if you don't that is a very arrogant and ignorant understanding of the Martial Arts, and disrespectful to say the least!

I found these videos to somewhat illustrate some of the intents and differences, of course these are demos they wouldn't film real combat footage would they.

So watch and at least respect the difference.............

NO GLOVES, NO SHIN PADS, NO REFEREE LOL
;)

These videos don't show much only a glimpse by definition only a mere look at the training and willingness to undergo intense training and real life combat threat and readiness.

These guys are commandos, special forces, elite soldiers, special secret agents trained in martial arts with many skills and abilities.

Its not a sport once you enlist to take upon such responsibilities in this chosen career in Military Special Forces as an example.

So why would anyone think UFC/MMA is equal to this makes me laugh!

UFC/MMA is all an illusion for entertainment, reality is much, much more violent and takes a certain type of person to go the distance to be an elite Special Forces Soldier, many don't cut the mustard some spew up on the first training day, some just don't have what it takes when they need to move, they freeze and fail and resign from the training course.

I hope I have helped to at least clear what are the differences of a sport and real combat.

Interesting discussion regardless.
