Why doesn't Werdum get more criticism for his performance against Stipe

I really have no idea what Werdum was thinking that night. Usually he shows pretty high fight IQ but went full retard against Stipe, especially considering cardio was one of his biggest advantages.

Werdum is known for getting aggressive when he gets tagged. Stipe had allready caught him once and he kept pursuing. He did that against Cain too.

well i am not defending him for his tactics. When i was watching the fight with Velasquez,both of those guys just stood throwing down like rockemsockem robots with no regard for defense.I thought this could be key for stipe to catch him with a precision punch.
Struve caught stipe with a finger in the eye,thats why stipe ran.

I think the main reason is most people didn't think he was THAT good. Reem beat him, JDS beat him, most think Cain would take a rematch, Hunt was lighting him up til he gassed. I don't think anyone thought Werdum was actually the best fighter in that division.
