Does your lady like it sir?Well of course taste is subjective to a degree, but I think I'll still get on my soapbox and vouch for it. I'm not sure I would have liked the original, filler-full cut if I wasn't like 12 or younger and it wasn't a different time 20+ years ago. I have rewatched the remastered series (Kai) a few times and even currently am watching it with my girlfriend, who has never seen it before. Imo it holds up. One great thing is that several of the scenes/cut away stills are literally painting+ quality. Almost movie like production value throughout. And at its roots it's about fighting. Many of these newer anime that purport to be "super deep" kinda miss the mark to me. A lot of them are essentially trying to do Dragon Ball again. And it's hard to discount how much influence Dragon Ball has had on basically all media/culture at this point (and especially anime)
That said of course there are other good anime/manga. DB is the goat to me still
Goat anime movie is Akira
I mostly read manga.
Lol smacked right in his face with that one.Because how else is he going to jack himself off when he gets home and rewatches his footage?
Yeah, she does! I convinced her to watch until at least the saiyan/Frieza saga, and just filled in some of the background from Dragon Ball (pre Z) myself. We're at about 50 now, which is the end of that saga, and I think she wants to see the rest now. Tbh while it loses some cohesive post-Frieza saga, it's still very good, and through Namek saga is one of the greatest stories ever told imo. It's especially impressive when the creator basically admitted to just pulling it out of a hat as he went along.Does your lady like it sir?
I'll always love Ninja Scroll tbh, Akira would be second for me.
How worthy are Oscars if they can be bought by people like Weinstein?
So Im gonna take a wild guess and say you and your lady are about 10-15 years younger than me...(Im 46) am I right?.Yeah, she does! And high five, I remember Ninja Scroll, from a good ~15 years back, though I had no idea it was even held in high regard. I remember it being very good, but I feel better recommending something if I've (re)watched it recently, you know?
To be fair, he was the main character for a long time. He was the defending champion. First out of his gym. He’s not anymore, but that main character syndrome got him to the highest peak of the tallest mountain.idk but he has severe main character syndrome
